Elon Musk Grosses Out CNN Host with ‘Drug Bladder’ Issues

Elon Musk’s spiraling drug use—including claims of ketamine-induced bladder damage—has left even seasoned news anchors at a loss for words.

During a CNN segment Thursday night, host Erin Burnett grimaced after hearing details from a New York Times investigation into Musk’s heavy drug intake while advising President Donald Trump’s administration.

“It obviously would be very disturbing to imagine what that would be,” Burnett said, referring to the reported side effects of Musk’s ketamine use, including bladder dysfunction.

According to the Times, Musk regularly used a cocktail of controlled substances—including ketamine, ecstasy, psilocybin mushrooms, and Adderall—while simultaneously helping steer federal policy as head of the Trump-created Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE. He allegedly boasted that the ketamine had caused him bladder problems—a known symptom of chronic abuse of the dissociative drug.

Investigative journalist Megan Twohey, who co-authored the Times report, told Burnett that Musk wasn’t shy about his drug use on the campaign trail last year.

“He was telling people he was doing so much ketamine it was giving him bladder issues,” Twohey said. She also confirmed Musk regularly traveled with a pill organizer containing as many as 20 daily medications, including Adderall—a stimulant often misused for its performance-enhancing effects.

Doctors interviewed by The Daily Beast confirmed that frequent ketamine use—multiple times per week—can lead to painful urination, incontinence, and even kidney failure.

“It’s not just recreational anymore,” one physician said. “This is long-term harm.”

Musk has previously admitted to using ketamine “every two weeks” to treat depression during an awkward sit-down with former CNN anchor Don Lemon last year. But critics say the tech billionaire’s behavior—bizarre online rants, unchecked pro-natalist comments, and impulsive business decisions—suggest something far more dangerous is at play.

“Elon’s trying to act like he’s got one foot in genius-land and one foot in MAGA-world,” said MSNBC’s Ari Melber. “But if you’re advising the President while tripping on hallucinogens, that’s not innovation—that’s recklessness.”

His recent obsession with fathering as many children as possible, publicly endorsing fringe conspiracy theories, and attacking the media have added fuel to concerns that Musk is no longer fit for political influence—or executive leadership.

Musk officially stepped down Friday after reaching the 130-day cap for special government employees. But the White House made clear that he won’t be going far.

“He’ll still be around,” one senior Trump adviser said off-record. “Elon’s got the President’s ear.”

At a briefing commemorating Musk’s departure, the Tesla CEO lashed out at The New York Times, deflecting attention from the drug allegations.

“Is this the same New York Times that got a Pulitzer for the Russiagate hoax?” Musk asked reporters. “I think the judge just ruled they might have to give that one back.”

Trump also downplayed the report, saying he wasn’t aware of Musk’s drug habits but dismissed them as irrelevant.

“I think he’s fantastic,” Trump said. “Not troubled by anything to do with Elon. He’s a winner.”

But critics say Trump’s loyalty to Musk—no matter how erratic the behavior—speaks volumes.

“Let’s be clear,” said one former ethics official. “If any other government advisor admitted to popping pills and tripping on ketamine while helping shape national policy, they’d be gone—and probably indicted. But this is Trump’s America, where billionaires with drug habits run departments created on Twitter.”

As Musk continues to juggle roles across SpaceX, Tesla, and government policy, the question remains: how much longer can a man allegedly medicating himself into bladder failure be allowed to help steer the nation?

“We’re witnessing the slow-motion meltdown of a tech mogul turned policy puppet,” said Melber. “And no one in Trump’s orbit seems ready to pull the plug.”
