Trump Threatens Justices with Unhinged Plan to Release ‘Terrorists’ On Doorsteps

In a stunning escalation of rhetoric and a blatant show of disregard for democratic norms, President Donald Trump is lashing out at the Supreme Court after it struck down one of his most controversial immigration maneuvers yet.

Following a 7–2 decision on Friday that blocked his administration’s attempt to use a centuries-old wartime law to fast-track the deportation of migrants, Trump took to Truth Social to amplify a post that reads like a threat: dump so-called “terrorists” near the homes of Supreme Court justices.

The post, originally authored by MAGA loyalist and former GOP staffer Mike Davis, suggested the president should “release these terrorists near the Chevy Chase Country Club, with daytime release.” That’s no random location—Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh reportedly frequent the elite Maryland club.

Davis, a top contender for Trump’s next attorney general, openly blasted the high court for blocking what he described as the president’s “military operations” to remove “foreign terrorists.” He called the Supreme Court’s injunction “illegal.”

Trump didn’t just “like” the post. He shared it with his massive online following, essentially endorsing the fantasy of placing migrants outside justices’ homes as a form of protest or intimidation.

The reaction was swift. Former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau fired back online, calling out the madness: “The President re-posts a suggestion from an advisor that he release ‘terrorists’ near the homes of Supreme Court justices who’ve merely ruled that the government can’t send people to a foreign gulag without due process.”

Davis responded with a simple but chilling, “Yes.” He doubled down, saying migrants should be sent to “wealthy white liberal enclaves, like Chevy Chase and Martha’s Vineyard,” sarcastically adding, “Then let’s see how much ‘due process’ you liberals want.”

A Dangerous Turn

The court decision that triggered this meltdown temporarily blocks the Trump administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, an obscure wartime law, to deport migrants—many of whom had barely 24 hours’ notice and little information before being removed from the country.

In their opinion, the justices ruled the policy “does not pass muster.” Even conservative-leaning justices joined the majority in warning that such a move would violate core constitutional protections.

One Migrant, One Illegal Deportation

Trump’s fury may also be fueled by headlines surrounding Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran man deported despite a federal court order that explicitly barred it. A Washington, D.C. judge demanded his immediate return to the U.S.—a demand the Trump administration has brazenly ignored.

Legal experts are calling it a potential constitutional crisis.

“This isn’t just about immigration anymore,” said Professor Asha Mehta, a constitutional scholar at Georgetown Law. “We are now in a moment where the President of the United States is threatening the judiciary—essentially for doing its job.”

The White House has refused to clarify whether Trump’s reposting of the plan to release migrants near justices’ homes is symbolic or serious. But many are not waiting to find out.
