It hasn’t even been two months, and already the Trump-Kennedy alliance at the Department of Health and Human Services is imploding — dragging America’s public health system down with it.
Insiders say the White House is now running a shadow PR team to mop up the chaos left by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose department has gone radio silent during multiple national health scares.
“It’s a total meltdown,” said one senior Trump administration official. “RFK’s team is asleep at the wheel, and we’re stuck doing the cleanup.”
The mess reportedly centers around Kennedy’s handpicked deputy chief of staff Stefanie Spear — a loyalist from his failed presidential campaign with no public health experience. Since her appointment, critical health messaging has slowed to a crawl or stopped entirely, leaving the CDC, vaccine officials, and even the White House blindsided.
A Measles Death. No Statement. A Social Media Hike.
On February 26, a child in West Texas died from measles — the first fatality in a preventable outbreak. While Americans watched the news in horror, RFK Jr. posted nothing. No press conference. No guidance. Not even a tweet.
Two days later, Kennedy broke his silence — not to lead, but to share a short post on X. Then, the very next day, he was back online celebrating a hike in California.
“You’ve got CNN running a ‘Where’s Kennedy?’ headline,” a furious White House official told Axios. “Meanwhile, the Secretary of Health is bragging about mountain views.”
Trump’s White House Now Running HHS?
Sources say the White House has now taken direct control of press responses coming out of HHS, forming a parallel communications team because Spear and Kennedy’s circle have gone dark.
“This isn’t normal,” said a former HHS official who served under both parties. “You don’t see a White House scrambling to fix a cabinet secretary’s silence — unless something’s deeply broken.”
The dysfunction peaked last week when the nation’s top vaccine official abruptly resigned, releasing a fiery letter slamming Kennedy’s leadership. Spear was unreachable. The White House, once again, had to scramble to approve the department’s official response.
“They didn’t even know it happened until the story broke,” one source said.
Paranoia, Silence, and Leaks — Inside the RFK Disaster Zone
Multiple sources describe a department ruled by mistrust and mismanagement. Spear reportedly cut off all outside communications in January — including delaying the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, a staple of U.S. health data since the 1940s.
Internal initiatives are also flopping. Operation Stork Speed — Kennedy’s much-hyped push for cleaner baby food — got zero national coverage because no one at HHS bothered to tell the press.
Meanwhile, Trump officials are battling career employees behind the scenes, with one White House aide saying, “They hate us. They leak everything. And Kennedy’s team has shut everyone else out.”
Another added: “It’s like there’s a bubble around Stefanie and RFK. Everyone else is either ignored or treated like an enemy.”
Vaccine Conspiracies Resurface — And the CDC Goes Silent
Perhaps most disturbing: when reports surfaced that the CDC was preparing a study into the long-debunked claim that vaccines cause autism — a cornerstone of Kennedy’s conspiracy-laden career — Spear reportedly ordered HHS to stay quiet.
The White House had to override that order too.
“That was the moment it became clear,” one insider said. “They’re not just incompetent. They’re dangerous.”
Official Denials. Public Consequences.
Kennedy, Spear, and HHS refused to respond to requests for comment. But Trump White House spokesman Kush Desai tried to downplay the crisis.
“These anonymous sources are just trying to stir up trouble,” Desai said. “The White House and HHS are working hand-in-hand to Make America Healthy Again.”
But even Republican officials are losing patience — and confidence. “You can’t ignore a measles death, vaccine resignations, and a department that’s stopped talking to the public,” said one former Trump staffer. “At some point, this becomes not just a Kennedy problem. It becomes a Trump problem.”
Public Health Is Not a Reality Show
RFK Jr. was always a risky pick — a man whose name evokes legacy, but whose record is littered with pseudoscience and social media stunts. Now that risk is turning into a crisis.
“America’s health department is being run like a fringe podcast,” said Dr. Lynn Cortez, a former CDC communications director. “And people are already paying the price.”

Too much trailing baggage. I’m sure he’ll be allowed to exit quietly.
Will you guys stop the lying about the White House and RFK, don’t you have anything else better to do like perhaps investigate the massive fraud and stealing of the American monies that are being stolen or perhaps the pedophelia that’s going on in this country and abroad with the rich and powerful people, it’s time for America to fall on our needs and repent and ask God to forgive us and have a awakening to what needs to be done, also the hatred that you have for certain people is blocking you from discerning the truth about your own self and asking god to reveal such hatred and especially those who call themselves Christians and yet going against the very word of god which will be ultimately our greatest downfall of mankind so let us check ourselves before we wreck ourselves
WOW! A whole dishonest article without “former Pres. Trump” in it…
What can you expect from a former heroin addict?
Wow, 1 death from measles and you act as if it’s the end of the world. Question, how many kids have died from MMR vaccines? I’m sure you have that answer handy right? There is a health crisis in this country and it’s not measles
