A CNN interview turned into a political battlefield Tuesday night as Stephen Miller, senior Trump adviser, clashed with anchor Jake Tapper over accusations of bias in the federal workforce.
The exchange, which unfolded on The Lead, veered off course as Miller insisted that federal employees overwhelmingly support left-wing candidates, sparking heated debate.
A Routine Question, A Shocking Claim
The conversation began with Tapper questioning how President Trump’s sweeping funding freeze would impact essential programs like school lunches. But Miller quickly took the discussion in an unexpected direction.
“I want to really drill down on this, Jake, because it’s so important,” Miller declared. “The federal workforce is overwhelmingly left-wing. You look at USAID—98% of their employees donated to Kamala Harris or another left-wing candidate.”
Tapper, caught off guard, challenged the claim. “I don’t know that to be a fact.”
Miller fired back. “It is a fact. And it matters because these are the people deciding how to spend taxpayer dollars.”
A Battle Over ‘Demonization’
As Tapper tried to shift the conversation back to the funding freeze’s real-world impact, Miller doubled down. “Did you just say that saying someone voted for Kamala Harris is demonizing them?” he demanded, after Tapper suggested Miller was painting federal employees as biased.
“I’m saying you’re implying bias,” Tapper clarified.
Miller wasn’t having it. “You used the word ‘demonizing,’ not me,” he shot back. “These workers are making spending decisions, and the American people deserve to know where their political loyalties lie.”
The Push for Political Control
Miller continued his argument, insisting that Trump’s order was about restoring accountability. “You have unelected bureaucrats deciding to fund things like $500-million fountains or gender studies in Afghanistan. There has to be political control,” he argued.
The White House later clarified that essential benefits like Social Security and Medicaid were not affected by the freeze. Still, the confrontation underscored Trump’s broader battle against what his administration calls the entrenched ‘deep state’ bureaucracy.
Tapper’s Final Attempt at Control
As the interview spiraled, Tapper struggled to regain control. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he finally admitted at one point.
Miller, unfazed, continued pushing his message: The federal government, he insisted, was in desperate need of reform. Whether voters see his claims as justified scrutiny or political scapegoating remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—this exchange won’t be forgotten anytime soon.

Most federal employee donated to Kamala because they knew and had previous experience of having lived during Trump last wreck and knew about Project 2025. Miller is a racist fascist and God save us all from people like him
