Man Kills Wife, Daughter and Shoots 2 Other Children

In the early hours of Saturday morning, a gruesome scene unfolded in a quiet neighborhood of River Ridge, Louisiana. Authorities reported that a 46-year-old man fatally shot his wife and toddler daughter before wounding two other children in their home. The tragedy ended with the man’s death after an armed confrontation with Jefferson Parish deputies.

At approximately 4 a.m., a 911 call brought deputies to a single-story home on the 10000 block of Stephen Drive, just outside New Orleans. The call came from the man’s 13-year-old daughter, who had managed to hide after sustaining an injury to her ankle.

When officers arrived, they discovered the lifeless bodies of the man’s 40-year-old wife and 2-year-old daughter in a hallway. A 9-year-old girl, critically wounded, was rushed to Children’s Hospital. Sheriff Joe Lopinto revealed the heartbreaking details, noting the bravery of the eldest daughter, who made the life-saving call.

Deputies encountered the father in a back bedroom. Sheriff Lopinto reported that the man produced a firearm, prompting officers to respond with deadly force. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local residents expressed shock and sorrow. Neighbor Judith Romero said, “This neighborhood has always been so peaceful. To think something like this could happen right next door is terrifying.”
