Fox News Star Leaves Network After 28 Years

In a stunning announcement, Neil Cavuto, the iconic Fox News anchor, is leaving the network after nearly three decades.

The decision comes after the 66-year-old declined a contract renewal offer, sources confirm to The Post. His departure will be officially revealed during his Thursday afternoon show, Your World.

Cavuto’s contract is set to expire at the end of this month, and despite a lucrative renewal offer, the seasoned journalist has chosen to step away. Fox News issued a statement celebrating his legendary career:

“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism. We’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media. His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best in his next chapter.”

Though Fox remains the dominant player in cable news, ranking number one, financial pressures still loom over the industry. The news of Cavuto’s exit follows broader challenges facing many media outlets.

The Post also learned that Cavuto’s lineup of shows – including Your World, Cavuto Coast to Coast on Fox Business, and Cavuto Live on Saturdays – will be temporarily hosted by a rotating group of anchors. Permanent replacements are expected to be announced in the new year.

Cavuto’s departure comes after a difficult personal health battle. In 2022, he made headlines after a harrowing battle with a second bout of COVID-19, which almost cost him his life. He spent weeks in the ICU and later joked about the experience, saying, “Some of you who’ve wanted to put me out of my misery darn near got what you wished for. Sorry to disappoint you.”

The Murdoch family, owners of Fox’s parent company, Fox Corp., also controls The Post’s parent company, News Corp.
