As speculation grows over Vice President Kamala Harris’ political future, her team is grappling with conflicting strategies. Should Harris aim for California’s governorship in 2026, or hold out for a potential presidential bid in 2028?
The crux of the debate lies in whether Harris can secure the Democratic nomination for president in 2028. Her advisers broadly agree: it’s nearly impossible to run for governor and mount a credible presidential campaign just two years later.
“If you’re serious about 2028, running for governor in 2026 is a non-starter,” said a former senior adviser to Harris. “It sends a message that you’re not focused on the presidency.”
Harris faces the fallout from her failed 2024 presidential run. Despite raising over $1 billion, her campaign fell flat, losing both the electoral and popular vote to Donald Trump. Critics within her camp view this as a warning against another Oval Office run.
Others argue that Harris has a better shot at governor, pointing to her deep California roots and proven statewide track record. “She’s been elected statewide three times—attorney general, senator, and vice president. Few could match that kind of profile in a governor’s race,” said a prominent California Democratic strategist.
Should Harris pursue the governorship, she’ll need to decide quickly. Her advisers believe a campaign announcement must come by summer 2025.
According to CNN, several major contenders for the 2026 gubernatorial race—including well-known California politicians—have suggested they’d step aside if Harris enters the race, acknowledging her formidable name recognition and fundraising prowess.
Yet, not everyone is on board. “Running for governor would be a step down,” said a person close to Harris. “It also complicates her ability to run for president again. The governor’s mansion isn’t the White House.”
For now, Harris remains undecided. While maintaining a low profile since her 2024 loss, she’s hinted at a desire to stay in the game. “I’m not going quietly into the night,” she told donors at a recent private event.
Political observers say her options reflect the delicate balancing act of a politician whose career has been both groundbreaking and turbulent. “She’s in a unique position,” said UCLA political science professor Marisa Garcia. “She has history on her side, but she also has to navigate significant public skepticism about her national appeal.”
For Harris, the stakes couldn’t be higher. A failed presidential bid in 2028 could mark the end of her political career. But opting out of a gubernatorial run could leave her without a clear platform to reassert her leadership.
Harris’ decision will likely shape not only her future but also the direction of California and the Democratic Party. One longtime supporter summed it up: “Whatever she decides, it has to be bold. Playing it safe isn’t an option anymore.”

Considering that she’s the worst candidate ever, and that her record as a presidential candidate is worse than her term as VP, she might consider dropping out of politics for ever. Or, Maybe she can get a job with Sorros. Oh, that’s right, she blew a lot of his money. Maybe the Iranians would hire her, but she’s not Musslim. She said she loved re-decorating her office. Maybe she can turn that into a part-time gig. Anything that doesn’t require her to talk. Word Salad is not a popular language.
So many skeletons exposed in her closet… maybe she can finally actually get that job at McDonald’s… when old enough, she can prolly draw a good retirement from ‘acting’ as a No Show VP…
Kamala has no idea how to run a lemonade stand. Let alone an ice cream parlor. So, who will speak in her ear suggesting the words that will change the people’s opinion of her lack of abilities in being the CEO of the most important country on earth?
She has demonstrated that cackling when asked hard questions and uttering strings of words for the sake of speaking, while never answering the questions with effective plans do not make people willing to follow her.
So, she needs to go to school, 24/7/365 for the next four years. But, in the mean time, PRESIDENT TRUMP will have righted the boat, sent the globalists back to Europe, sent the illegal criminals to Mexico after building the wall, thanks to TEXAS buying the materials. And “drill, baby, drill” giving the USA total control back on energy, selling oil and LNG all over the world. The USA have more natural gas in reserve in only two states to provide for the world for two centuries and more. This is the reason ALL the world leaders are meeting with PRESIDENT TRUMP, while the aging bribed, corrupt Biden , while still in office, is sunning his gonads and licking ice cream on the beach.
She should go for the Governorship of CA where she has a good chance of winning, since to go for the Presidency would be an all out war.
She has no future
Go for president again, we don\’t need/want you in California!!! Besides,we could use a good laugh when you get you\’re ass handed to you again!!!!
Oh, please! A person cannot even handle her campaign fund, how can she manage the National, or even State budget! LH
