In a move that’s raising some eyebrows, Melania Trump is keeping a close watch on her son Barron Trump’s college experience, quite literally. The 18-year-old freshman at NYU’s prestigious Stern School of Business has opted out of the usual college dorm life, choosing instead to stay at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan—a decision reportedly backed by his mother.

While Barron’s enrollment at NYU, one of the most respected universities in the country, has made headlines, his choice to skip living on campus is generating even more buzz. Rather than integrating into the typical college experience by living in a dorm with his peers, Barron has decided to stay in the comfort and privacy of his family’s lavish Manhattan skyscraper.

Melania, ever the hands-on mother, is reportedly playing a significant role in shaping Barron’s transition to adulthood. According to sources close to the family, she is doing everything she can to ensure her son thrives academically and socially—but, at least for now, that doesn’t include dorm life.

One political insider explained that Melania firmly believes Barron needs to be kept under close supervision during these formative years, both for his personal growth and mental well-being. “Living in a dorm just isn’t in the cards for him,” the source noted, adding that Melania is focused on his academic success as well as balancing his social life, given the very unique dynamics of being the son of Donald Trump.

Interestingly, Melania has stated that it was Barron’s choice to remain at Trump Tower, and she fully supports his decision. In a rare interview with Fox News in September, Melania shared that Barron specifically expressed a desire to stay in New York City and live at home rather than in university housing.

“It was his decision to come here that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that,” she said, adding, “I hope he will have a great experience because his life is very different than any other 18, 19-year-old child.”

Despite not experiencing the usual college living arrangements, Barron seems to be adjusting well to his first year at NYU. Sources familiar with his college life say he’s quickly become popular on campus—especially with the ladies.

“He’s at Stern, so he’s studying business in some capacity,” a source revealed. “And yes, he’s definitely a ladies’ man. He’s tall, handsome, and really popular with the girls. Even people who might not share his family’s politics think he’s pretty attractive.”

It seems that while Barron might not be living the typical college experience, he’s fitting in just fine at NYU—proving that sometimes, the unconventional path works best. As for Melania, she’s committed to staying as close to her son as possible, helping him navigate the complex world of higher education, even if that means keeping him under the protective wing of Trump Tower.

  1. Barron is not all there. He may have a mild case of autism and in those cases Melania is correct in keeping him close by…not that by any chance Trump would acknowledge his kid have a problem….
