Boxing icon Mike Tyson, 58, admits he barely remembers his much-anticipated fight against Jake Paul, 27, which took place on November 15. In a candid interview with Covino & Rich on Fox Sports, Tyson described the experience as a blur.

“I kind of blanked out,” Tyson confessed. “I remember coming back from the first round, seeing Jake doing this weird bow in the ring… and then nothing. That’s all I remember.”

The match was a spectacle, held in front of a packed Dallas Cowboys stadium crowd. Despite the hype, Tyson revealed his doubts about why he agreed to the fight in the first place.

“The next morning, I woke up sore all over—my chest, my stomach, everywhere—and I asked my wife, ‘Why did I do that?’ I don’t know what the hell I was thinking,” he said. Tyson has been married to Lakiha Spicer since 2009, and she has often been a grounding force in his tumultuous life.

A day after the fight, Tyson shocked fans with a vulnerable post on X (formerly Twitter). The boxing legend shared that his journey to the ring was far from easy.

“I almost died in June,” Tyson revealed. “Had eight blood transfusions, lost half my blood, and dropped 25 pounds in the hospital. I fought to get healthy again. To step in the ring, finish eight rounds with a fighter half my age, and have my kids witness it—that’s a win in itself.”

Tyson’s emotional post resonated with fans, many of whom praised his resilience and dedication to the sport, even as he approached his 60th birthday.

While the fight was memorable, Tyson’s bare-butt incident during the match went viral. Addressing the chatter, he laughed it off, saying, “The reaction was ridiculous. I’ve been like that my whole career. Nothing new!”

When asked if he’d change anything about the match, Tyson stood firm. “Not at all,” he said.

Tyson’s fight with Jake Paul marked another chapter in a career filled with ups and downs. The event was preceded by a lively press conference in May at New York’s Apollo Theater, where Tyson and Paul shared the stage. The clash between the seasoned veteran and the YouTuber-turned-boxer drew headlines for months.

As for Jake Paul, the 27-year-old fighter has yet to comment on Tyson’s remarks, but fans continue to speculate about what’s next for both athletes.

For Tyson, the match wasn’t just a fight—it was a statement. “I’m grateful for the opportunity. No regrets,” he reiterated.
