Trump Furious at Fox News After Sitting Down for Interview

In a fiery social media tirade, former president Donald Trump took aim at Fox News on Sunday, hours after the conservative network aired an interview with him—not once, but twice. Trump’s complaint? Fox isn’t showing him enough loyalty.

Posting on his own Truth Social platform, Trump accused the network of spending “so much time interviewing the other side” and claimed his campaign must win “DESPITE them.” His ire followed the network’s re-airing of his interview with Sunday Morning Futures anchor Maria Bartiromo, one of the few Fox hosts still fully in Trump’s corner. Despite the cozy tête-à-tête, Trump seemed furious that Fox News wasn’t bending entirely to his will, accusing the network of being more interested in being “Fair and Balanced,” just like CNN and MSNBC, which he mockingly referred to as “MSDNC.”

Trump then launched into an attack on two of Fox’s co-anchors, Arthel Neville and Eric Shawn, labeling them “TERRIBLE” in all caps. His thinly veiled references to “A.N.” and “E.S.” seemed to reflect his frustration with any network voices not fully aligned with his MAGA movement.

During his interview with Bartiromo, Trump was given ample space to make baseless claims and personal attacks. He took shots at Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden, claiming—without evidence—that Biden “spends his day sleeping.” He also falsely asserted that he was leading in every swing state poll and even floated the absurd idea of appointing Elon Musk to a fictional cabinet position of “Secretary of cost-cutting.”

But for Trump, even that level of deference from Fox wasn’t enough. It seems anything less than 100% MAGA content is a betrayal in his eyes. His attacks on the network, long considered a reliable supporter of his agenda, signal a further hardening of the former president’s expectations for loyalty—where even the slightest deviation is met with scorn.

As Trump continues to dominate Republican headlines, his relationship with Fox News reflects the growing tension between traditional conservative media and the more extreme, loyalty-demanding rhetoric of Trumpism. In his world, there’s little room for anything other than absolute fealty.
