Kamala Harris Supporter ‘Fuming’ After being Featured in Pro-Trump Ad (Video)

Kimberly Burrell, a grieving mother who lost her son to gun violence in 2009, expressed outrage after a pro-Trump political action committee (PAC) used her comments in an ad critical of the Biden administration.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, Burrell’s remarks, made during a July interview with MSNBC, were featured in an ad by the Restoration PAC, a group supporting former President Donald Trump.

In the original interview, Burrell spoke emotionally about the struggles faced by families dealing with inflation, saying, “Imagine the mother making minimum wage trying to feed children. They’re killing us without killing us.” These heartfelt comments were then used in the PAC’s ad, which juxtaposed Burrell’s statement with Vice President Kamala Harris promoting “Bidenomics,” followed by a clip of Harris laughing.

Burrell told The Inquirer she was “distraught” by the way her words were used, feeling her comments were misrepresented. “They can just steal your image and comments and twist it the way they want it to be twisted,” she said, calling the manipulation of her interview “sick.”

A spokesperson for the PAC, Dan Curry, fired back when approached for comment by The Inquirer’s columnist Helen Ubiñas, dismissing her inquiry and accusing her of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Curry added, “Your X feed indicates you are a hard-partisan… therefore you don’t need my help in cobbling together your biased column.”

Legal experts noted that the PAC’s use of Burrell’s comments likely falls under the fair use doctrine, giving the group significant latitude in how they repurpose public remarks. However, Burrell may still have grounds to pursue legal action if she can argue the ad misrepresented her views.

Burrell has contacted the PAC and the Trump campaign and is reportedly working with a lawyer to draft a cease and desist letter in response to the ad’s use of her words.
