NPR reporter Eric Deggans revealed in an X post on Saturday that ABC host Rachel Scott received death threats following her widely publicized interview with former President Donald Trump at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in Chicago.
“At a membership meeting today, NABJ’s executive director said ABC’s Rachel Scott had received death threats following her work asking incisive questions of Donald Trump at the groups national convention Wednesday,” Deggans wrote.
The Daily Beast reached out to ABC and the NABJ for comment but has yet to receive a response.
On Wednesday at the NABJ convention, Scott asked Trump if he believes Vice President Kamala Harris “is only on the ticket because she is a Black woman,” to which Trump replied, “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black, and now she wants to be known as Black. So, I don’t know. Is she Indian, or is she Black?”
Fox News host and co-panelist Harris Faulkner said Scott was getting the interview “off to an emotional start,” according to The Hill.

While I do believe the ABC reporter was incredibly rude towards President Trump, and have serious doubts that she received any death threats, I have no problem with “incisive” questions. Now, where are your unscripted incisive questions for Kamala Harris?
