Prosecutors have laid out chilling new allegations against David Anthony Burke, the musician known as D4vd, in a newly released court document that paints a disturbing picture of the events leading to the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

According to the filing, Burke is accused of murdering the teen in an attempt to stop her from exposing what prosecutors describe as an inappropriate and illegal relationship that began years earlier.

Prosecutors claim Burke first met Celeste when she was just 11 years old. By the time she was 13, the document alleges, the then-18-year-old singer had begun a sexual relationship with her.

Investigators say the situation escalated in April 2025, when messages between the two reportedly showed the teen had grown increasingly upset and jealous over Burke’s involvement with other women. Prosecutors allege he led her to believe they had a future together.

The court document claims Celeste threatened to reveal damaging information about their relationship — something prosecutors say Burke feared could destroy his rising music career.

According to prosecutors, the teen went to Burke’s home shortly before her death. It’s there, they allege, that the situation turned violent.

The filing claims Burke stabbed Celeste multiple times and then “stood by while she bled out,” allegedly intending to silence her.

Authorities believe the killing happened the following day after the alleged threats.

The court document also includes disturbing allegations about what happened after the killing.

Prosecutors say Burke purchased two chainsaws and used them to dismember the teen’s body inside an inflatable pool. Investigators reportedly found Celeste’s DNA in his garage.

Her remains were later discovered in September 2025 inside the trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke, abandoned in the Hollywood Hills. Prosecutors say he was the last known person to drive the vehicle.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner determined Celeste died from multiple penetrating injuries, with significant wounds to her torso. Due to the condition of the remains, it initially took time to confirm the exact cause of death.

Authorities also reported that two of the teen’s fingers were missing. Prosecutors claim those fingers had Burke’s name tattooed on them.

In addition, investigators allege Burke was in possession of child sexual abuse images involving the victim.

Celeste’s remains were found just one day after she would have turned 15.

She had previously been reported missing from her hometown of Lake Elsinore in 2024. Police say she had run away earlier that year, briefly returned home, and then disappeared again.

According to prosecutors, Burke initially told investigators he did not know Celeste was a minor and claimed he had only met her once.

However, the filing alleges he later paid one of her friends $1,000 to provide her with a cellphone so they could continue communicating after her parents confiscated her original device.

Authorities also say Celeste spent extended periods at Burke’s home and even traveled with him to places including Las Vegas, London, and Texas, where she reportedly met members of his family.

Burke’s legal team has denied the allegations, maintaining that he is innocent and did not kill the teen.

His attorneys had attempted to block the release of the prosecution’s detailed brief, but a judge denied that request, allowing the information to become public.

A court hearing originally scheduled for Friday has now been pushed to late May, giving the defense more time to review the evidence.
