Knewz.com has learned that the security around the gymnast has reportedly been considerably strengthened and her movements restricted.
According to the reports, Kabaeva has apparently “fallen out of favor” with the current Russian administration.
The rumors have been put forward by the anonymous Telegram channel General SVR, which also spread the “reports” regarding the Russian president’s alleged health demise.
“The common-law wife of the late Russian President Vladimir Putin, Alina Kabaeva, is practically under house arrest. After Putin’s death, Kabaeva’s security has been significantly strengthened; all her movements outside her residence in Valdai must be coordinated and occur extremely rarely,” the channel wrote.
General SVR’s further claimed that although the gymnast girlfriend of Putin is being prepared for her next public appearance, it does not change the fact that she “does not control her own freedom” anymore.
The 40-year-old former Olympic gymnast has made quite a few appearances alongside Putin. The Daily Star theorized that the Russian tyrant uses her presence to humanize his image.
The outlet wrote, “[Kabaeva] has often been pictured by Putin’s side whenever he wants to portray a more human side – rather than the war-mad despot he is most known to be.”
Kabaeva has also been a vocal supporter of Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. However, the channel has made the claims that with the “change” in the Russian administration, she finds herself “without power.”
“Unlike the daughters of the deceased president, Kabaeva fell out of favor with the current leadership of Russia in the person of Nikolai Patrushev. The uncrowned queen found herself without power and without prospects,” the statement read.
According to the Daily Star, her last known sighting was on October 22 at her elite gymnastics academy in Sochi.
In addition to making claims that Putin was on the decline in health, General SVR also suggested that the reins of the Kremlin have been passed on to a close friend of the Russian president and former director of the Federal Security Service, Nikolai Patrushev.
According to General SVR, Putin was found by his guards “lying on the floor and rolling his eyes” in his bedroom on the evening of October 22. After broadcasting a few more regular “updates” regarding the Russian president’s declining health condition, the channel announced his alleged “death” and claimed that the Kremlin tried to keep this fact a secret.
“Negotiations on the creation of a coalition of representatives of the pro-Putin elites under the leadership of Nikolai Patrushev (head honcho of Russia’s security council) are almost completed to preserve the current regime and use Putin’s double in the image of the president,” one of the posts on the Telegram channel read.
A former KGB agent, Patrushev has reportedly been eyed as a potential successor to the Russian President. He has been a staunch supporter of Putin’s military campaign in Ukraine and recently claimed that as far as proficiency is concerned, the Russian nuclear arsenal is better than all other countries. His statement has been dubbed by many as a bid to show off to the Western bloc.
In a statement to state media RIA Novosti, Peskov referred to the rumor as an “absurd information canard” and said, “These (kinds of stories) belong to the category of fake news, discussed with enviable tenacity by a number of media outlets.”
