In a surprising shake-up at CNN, three prominent figures have assumed leadership roles in the network following the recent removal of Chris Licht. Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper, and Erin Burnett have joined forces to lead CNN during these challenging times.

An insider revealed to Radar Online that “Anderson, Jake, and Erin have formed an alliance and are now running CNN.” With the search for a new boss still in its early stages, these three seasoned journalists have stepped up to fill the power vacuum. The insider jokingly referred to the situation as “the inmates taking over the asylum.” Notably absent from the recent leadership changes is Kaitlan Collins, who was Chris Licht’s protégé. The source revealed that the others aren’t big fans of Collins.

The transition in leadership comes at a time when CNN is facing controversies and declining morale. One such controversy arose from Kaitlan Collins’ town hall with former President Donald Trump. Many staff members viewed the event as a transparent attempt to boost ratings, which they found distasteful. However, Collins defended her participation, stating that she thoroughly prepared herself for the discussion.

Chris Licht’s departure from CNN was prompted by declining ratings and a highly critical article published in The Atlantic. The extensive article, spanning 15,000 words, highlighted Licht’s perceived arrogance toward CNN and its coverage of Trump’s presidency and the pandemic. It painted him as someone who considered himself untouchable within the network. Licht’s exit marked the end of his 13-month tenure as CEO of CNN.

Speaking about his departure, Licht said, “This was an exciting but incredibly challenging assignment, and I learned a lot over the past 13 months. I’ve been lucky enough to have had a successful, fulfilling career, and I look forward to my next chapter. I wish the team at CNN the very best, always.”

Chris Licht assumed the role of CEO after Jeff Zucker’s removal last year, which came in the wake of Zucker’s undisclosed affair with former CNN executive Allison Gollust. Speculation has arisen that CNN could potentially be up for acquisition. There are rumors of Zucker seeking the “ultimate revenge” by purchasing the network, a move that could entice previously dismissed anchors like Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo to consider returning and having a stake in CNN’s success.

With Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper, and Erin Burnett taking charge, CNN aims to navigate its challenges and regain its footing in the highly competitive news landscape. The trio’s experience and expertise will undoubtedly shape the network’s future direction and help address the concerns raised in recent times.
