Amidst the stillness of a peaceful South Carolina town, a shocking crime unfolded as a grandmother was taken into custody by the authorities, accused of aiding and abetting in the heinous cover-up of a brutal murder committed by her own grandson.
Edna Faye Daniels, 78, of Georgetown, was taken into custody Friday after she concealed the murder committed inside her home by her grandson, 30-year-old Ryan O’Neil Woodruff, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.
Arrest warrant affidavits said Daniels gave false information to law enforcement on several occasions while being questioned.
Woodruff was detained at the scene and is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending warrant service for murder.
Daniels is also being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center on charges of obstruction of justice and accessory after the fact to murder. She currently is awaiting a bond hearing.
Arrest warrants said Woodruff used a shotgun in the crime.
TyQuez Demetrius Walker, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene and died from injuries, according to the coroner.
According to an incident report, Walker was found face down in the kitchen area.
Woodruff was out on bond after being charged with the May 2021 murder of Debra Goins and Roger Woodruff Sr. on Graham Road in the Georgetown community, a release said.
