Alec Baldwin’s daughter Ireland didn’t pull any punches while firing back at Candace Owens on Monday, after Owens called last week’s shooting accident on the set of “Rust” a form of “poetic justice.”
“You are the most disgusting, hateful, cancerous human being I’ve ever come across,” Baldwin wrote Monday on her Instagram Story. “Regardless of your foul opinions most of the time, the fact that you would disrespect the life of a woman who was accidentally and tragically killed….Shame on you.”
“I am ashamed to breath the same air as this woman,” Baldwin added in the next slide.
In a now-deleted tweet the day after the “Rust” tragedy, Owens wrote, “Alec Baldwin spent four years dedicated to painting Donald Trump and his supporters as evil murderers. What has happened to Alec would be an example of poetic justice if it weren’t for the actual innocent people that were murdered by him. Pray for their families. So sad.”
In a follow-up tweet, Owens noted, “Will correct that last tweet to say Alec Baldwin *killed* someone — not murdered someone, as murder carries a different legal definition.”
Ireland Baldwin capped off her criticism of Owens by saying, “Your tweets, lack of information, and ignorance are hurting people.”
That said, the two women did apparently talk things out — Baldwin posted a screenshot of a series of direct messages between her and Owens, with Baldwin thanking the conservative pundit for “taking the time to have a real conversation.”
Last Thursday, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed and director Joel Souza injured on the set of the Alec Baldwin-starring film “Rust,” after the actor fired a prop gun he believed to be a “cold gun.” A “cold gun” would indicate that there was no live ammunition to be fired.
That same gun was used by crew members earlier Thursday morning for live-ammunition target practice, an individual with knowledge of the set told TheWrap. A number of crew members had taken prop guns from the New Mexico set of the indie Western — including the gun that killed Hutchins — to go “plinking,” a hobby in which people shoot at beer cans with live ammunition to pass the time, the insider said.

Gun safety is “on” each person that touches that gun to perform a safety check on the gun prior to using it. It is Alec Baldwin’s negligence and lack of support for the NRA guidelines that caused this horror.

No, Sandra was spot on. First rule of gun safety, NEVER point and fire a gun at anyone unless you are ready for the consequences of your actions. Alec is a spoiled and presumptuous person, who acts like a child, not like a man. He is also a alcoholic and a violent jerk who should never been given a gun. He should of inspected the weapon thoroughly before using, especially since it looked like a .357 magnum. If I am given a gun, I would of examined it including the ammo.
This whole back and forth at this time is terrible. I am not a fan of Alec Baldwin, mostly because of the hatred he has spewed against President Trump…But I do feel for him. It has to be a horrible feeling to know that you are responsible for another persons death. Hopefully, when they are doing ANY filming with guns involved, no one will be allowed to use the guns for target practice to pass the time. Not sure why anything like this was ever thought to be a good idea. Just tragic for all involved.

Shame on you Candace! Aren’t you aware that Democrats have a patent on hate and cruelty? Only they can disparage someone without consequence or evidence. Anyone who has a lick of common sense handed a weapon knows to check that it is not loaded and never take someone else’s word for that. Too bad the one who pulled the trigger (A Baldwin,) didn’t follow the NRA’s taught basic gun safety rule # 1 … Every gun you pick up is loaded, until you prove to yourself it isn’t. Simple step everyone who handles a gun should follow… in this case it would have prevented a needless death. So, Alec, how DOES it feel to kill someone??? Negligent homicide seems the correct crime he should be charged with! Of course the lame stream media, and left in general, are circling the wagons to insulate him from responsibility…. The chain of custody involving the handgun involved seems to be an extremely long one . As edd3 said, a weapon/prop is a live weapon until inspected. That goes from the first person to the last person(which happen to be Mr A. Baldwin). This just shows what happens when you don’t think people should have guns, you don’t take them seriously. I would imagine the line of lawyers is a very long one.
Lack of information never stopped Alec Baldwin from attacking people so now the tables are turned. Maybe Ireland should realize that most people find her father Alec the most disgusting, hateful, cancerous human being they’ve ever come across. Alec has attacked so many people with his out of control temper over the years most have no sympathy for him.
