A Texas toddler last seen dashing into the woods after a dog Wednesday afternoon was found safe and well late Saturday morning.
Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell confirmed 3-year-old Christopher Ramirez was found around 11:15 a.m. in a wooded area on FM 1486 near Highway 249, about five miles from his home in Plantersville. He said a citizen called in at tip after hearing some noise coming from the brush.
While he appeared to be in good shape, Christopher was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital out of an abundance of caution.
“He’s drinking lots of water, but he’s good,” Sowell said. “He’s alive, laughing, cutting up, crying. His mom is crying. He’s in good shape.”

His mother, Araceli Nunez, earlier this week issued a tearful plea for help in finding the missing boy. She said Christopher vanished on Wednesday while she put away groceries, adding that she only looked away from her son for a minute or two.
Video taken by local news outlets Saturday showed their emotional reunion, with Nunez wrapping her arms around her son and a nearby police officer.
Christopher’s disappearance set off a massive search effort, including local law enforcement, the FBI and EquuSearch.
“In my 21 years with Equusearch, this is only the second time when we had a child like this. Today, this morning, honestly, I gave up,” Texas EquuSearch founder Tim Miller told KHOU. “But thank God — it’s amazing, I got goosebumps. It’s so amazing. To see him and to hear that loud cry, it was just unbelievable.”
