Sean Hannity tried to embarrass Nancy Grace on live television — but the longtime legal commentator fired back with a one-liner that quickly turned the tables on the Fox News star.
The awkward exchange erupted during an on-air discussion about double jeopardy laws and how they differ from state to state.
Nancy Grace chewed out Sean Hannity when he admonished her for not knowing he had moved from New York to Florida. She has crimes to solve. She doesn't need to know what mansion he's living in at the moment. pic.twitter.com/WwmnZ3RJB4

Grace, 66, was explaining her point when she referenced Hannity being in New York.
“New York, where you are right now, is one of the most restricted double jeopardy…” she began.
Hannity, 64, immediately cut her off.
“Nancy, Nancy, I moved to the free state of Florida years ago,” Hannity said, appearing stunned that Grace had apparently missed the memo.
“You must be the only American that doesn’t know because I say it every day. I remind people.”
But Grace wasn’t about to let the jab slide.
“I thought you went back and forth,” she shot back. “I’m busy stopping crime. I can’t keep up with which mansion you’re living in.”
The remark appeared to leave Hannity scrambling for a response, with the host repeatedly saying “no” in the background as Grace continued.
The moment quickly lit up social media, where viewers wasted little time choosing sides — or, in some cases, attacking both television personalities.
One person mocked Hannity’s insistence that Americans should know where he lives, writing, “It’s cute he thinks everyone watches him blather on his show.”
Another viewer focused on Grace’s famously intense television persona, writing that she “exudes Disney Villain vibes.”
“She is sort of accidentally funny,” another commenter replied. “She’s not trying to be funny but everything she does is so over the top. It’s like living at 11 at all times.”
Other viewers were considerably less charitable.
One social media user refused to defend either personality, while another dismissed the exchange as a “battle of idiots.”
The clash offered another example of Hannity finding himself on the receiving end of a public jab.
Bravo host Andy Cohen previously went after the conservative commentator after Hannity promoted his “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” initiative and invited followers to submit questions they would ask him.
Cohen responded with a brutal question of his own: “How do you knowingly lie to the American people night after night?”
Hannity has remained one of Fox News’ most prominent conservative voices and has long used his program to champion Republican politicians and causes. His description of Florida as the “free state” also echoed language frequently used by conservatives praising Republican-led policies in the state.
Grace, meanwhile, has built her career around an aggressive, confrontational style while discussing criminal cases — making her unusually well-equipped for a live television sparring match.
Away from the political fireworks, Hannity is engaged to Fox & Friends anchor Ainsley Earhardt, 49.
Speaking recently on The Katie Miller Podcast, Hannity said the couple bonded over their shared values and preference for keeping their private lives relatively low-key.
“When you find the right person that is completely supportive of all that I do, and we have the exact same values, and we love to do the same stuff,” Hannity said.
“We’re not really into big social scene stuff. We like family dinners, we like to be with our kids and just have downtime, just have fun and just be with each other.”
Hannity has two adult children, Merri Kelly Hannity and Sean Patrick Hannity, from his previous marriage to Jill Rhodes.
Earhardt has a daughter, Hayden, from her previous marriage to Will Proctor.
Hannity said spending time with Earhardt allows him to switch off from his demanding television career.
“It’s kind of like when I’m with her, I’m on vacation,” he said. “It just takes me out of my work mode.”
Judging by his heated exchange with Grace, however, Hannity may have needed a vacation after this particular segment.
