A quiet Texas morning turned terrifying Monday when a small plane crashed into the backyard of a Fort Bend County home, sending emergency crews rushing to the scene and leaving neighbors stunned.
The crash happened near the Covey Trails Airstrip, a private aviation community in the Fulshear-Simonton area, according to fire officials.
Photos shared by the Fulshear Simonton Fire Department showed the yellow aircraft sitting in the backyard of a home after the frightening crash. The plane appeared to have come down alarmingly close to the residence, turning what should have been a normal Monday morning into a scene filled with first responders, flashing lights, and questions.
Officials said one person was aboard the aircraft when it went down. That person was taken to a hospital to be evaluated, though authorities did not immediately release details about their condition.
The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
Fire crews and law enforcement remained at the scene as the investigation got underway. Officials have not yet said whether anyone inside the home was injured or if the house suffered major damage.
