A routine baggage dispute turned into complete chaos when an airline passenger allegedly bit a police officer while being dragged off a plane after refusing to pay an excess luggage fee.
The bizarre incident unfolded Tuesday at Jorge Newbery Airpark in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the woman reportedly tried to board a low-cost JetSmart flight without paying for her overweight carry-on bag.
According to Jam Press, the traveler had been stopped at the gate over the baggage issue but allegedly pushed ahead anyway and boarded the plane bound for Córdoba, Argentina.
That is when the situation spiraled.
Wild video filmed by stunned passengers shows multiple officers struggling with the furious traveler in the aisle as they attempted to remove her from the aircraft. The woman can be seen fighting back as officers try to pull her off the plane.
At one point during the struggle, she allegedly sank her teeth into the arm of a female police officer.
Passengers watched in disbelief as the meltdown unfolded just feet from their seats. Some could be heard reacting to the scene, while others filmed the chaotic confrontation on their phones.
The woman was eventually escorted off the plane as fellow passengers reportedly applauded.
She was later taken to the airport’s medical center after suffering minor injuries during the scuffle. The flight was briefly delayed but eventually departed for Córdoba.
The passenger was detained and remains under investigation by federal authorities in Argentina. Officials have not announced any charges.
The shocking mid-airport meltdown has since gone viral, with many viewers stunned that a dispute over baggage fees ended with a police officer allegedly being bitten.
