Kentucky University Student Vanishes Just Days Before Graduation

A frantic search is underway in Kentucky after a 22-year-old Northern Kentucky University student disappeared just days before graduation, leaving loved ones terrified and desperate for answers.

Murry Alexis Foust was last seen on April 27 in the Latonia neighborhood of Covington, Kentucky, according to the Covington Police Department. The city sits just south of Cincinnati, and investigators say they are now using multiple resources to try to find the missing student, including water rescue crews, search teams, and drone operators.

Police said there is currently no sign of foul play, but concern is growing as the days pass.

“At this time, there is no indication of foul play. We understand the family’s concern and share in the worry they are experiencing during this difficult time,” the department said in a statement.

Authorities are also asking the public to come forward with any information that could help track Foust down.

“Concerns for their safety have arisen, and your input could be crucial,” police said.

Investigators released surveillance images that appear to show Foust walking through the Latonia neighborhood around 6 p.m. on April 27. In the images, Foust is seen carrying what police described as a tan or yellow backpack.

The case has shaken the Northern Kentucky University community, especially because Foust was supposed to graduate next week. According to local outlet WCPO, Foust is a fine arts major in the school’s College of Arts and Sciences.

The university said it is deeply troubled by the disappearance.

“Northern Kentucky University is aware that one of our students, Murry (Alexis) Foust, has been reported missing. We are deeply concerned and our thoughts are with their family, friends and all those impacted,” a university spokesperson said in a statement.

The school added that it is fully cooperating with investigators and urged anyone with information to contact Covington Police.

As the search continues, disturbing details are adding to the mystery. Friends told WCPO that Foust had planned to attend class the day they vanished. But after the student disappeared, Foust’s phone was reportedly found at home, while the backpack was later located on the university campus.

Foust’s father told WCPO that there have been several unconfirmed reported sightings since the student was reported missing, including one on Friday. Still, he said no one has actually heard from Foust.

That silence has only made the situation more frightening for those closest to the missing student.

“We don’t know what happened. They could be in danger,” friend Eve Miller told WCPO.

With graduation just around the corner, what should have been a time of celebration has now turned into a heartbreaking nightmare for Foust’s family, friends, and classmates as the search stretches on.
