School Bus Driver Allegedly Caught with a Prostitute in His Bus 

A Delaware school bus driver is facing disturbing charges after investigators say he turned his yellow bus into a rolling hookup spot and was caught on camera doing it.

Police claim 62-year-old Alvin Rohm pulled over on a narrow street in downtown Dover earlier this month, picked up a prostitute, and then drove to a quiet location near Jerusalem Way. What he allegedly did next shocked even seasoned officers.

A Dover school district employee first discovered the footage. They weren’t looking for anything related to Rohm. The video was being reviewed for a separate complaint involving students. Instead, the worker found what police later described as a “graphic and illegal encounter” inside the bus.

“I had to replay it twice because I couldn’t believe what I was watching,” said a district staff member familiar with the incident. “This is the last thing you expect to see happening inside a school bus.”

According to police, the video shows Rohm picking up the woman on January 6. He then parked the bus near a Baptist church on Jerusalem Way. Investigators say the footage depicts Rohm engaging in sexual acts and handing the woman money.

Detectives say they still don’t know whether any children were on his route that day. Rohm wasn’t employed directly by the school district. He worked for a private transportation contractor that serves multiple Delaware schools.

Parents in Dover are rattled. One mother told the outlet she worries about what could have happened.

“You send your kids off trusting the adults behind the wheel,” she said. “This is beyond disgusting. It feels like a betrayal.”

Dover Police arrested Rohm on January 12. He was charged with lewdness and patronizing a prostitute within 1,000 feet of a school, residence, or church. Officers say that distance matters, especially in a case involving a school bus.

“You’re talking about a vehicle designed to transport children,” an investigator said. “This wasn’t just bad judgment. This was criminal.”

Rohm was later released on bond while his case moves forward.

The incident has now prompted calls for tighter oversight of contracted bus services. Several local officials say the case exposes a gap in accountability.

“We rely on video systems and random checks to protect our students,” one official noted. “But this case shows we have to be even more vigilant.”

The investigation remains open. Authorities say additional charges are possible if new evidence emerges.
