Before his shocking and brutal death, legendary filmmaker Rob Reiner was secretly preparing what might have been his most controversial project yet — a sequel to Monty Python’s Life of Brian.
RadarOnline reports that the 78-year-old Spinal Tap director was preparing to travel to the UK in early 2026 to scout filming locations for a bold religious satire centered on the resurrection of Jesus. Reiner allegedly told friends he wanted the film to stir up just as much outrage and laughter as the original 1979 classic.
“He thought the time was perfect to skewer the far-right Christian world,” a Hollywood insider claimed. “With the rise of Trump and conservatism, Rob wanted to go out swinging.”
Reiner, known for iconic films like The Princess Bride and Stand By Me, had long admired Life of Brian and saw this sequel as his ultimate mic-drop before retirement. According to the source, he even said this project could be his final film.
“Rob wasn’t afraid of controversy. He was ready to go all in, no matter the backlash.”
Tragically, Reiner and his wife Michele, 70, were found murdered in their LA mansion on December 14. Their son, Nick Reiner, is accused of carrying out the horrific attack with a knife.
Monty Python star Eric Idle, 82, revealed he had a heartwarming call with Reiner just hours before the tragedy. They’d even made plans to meet in the New Year.
“Last thing he said to me was, ‘See you next year,’” Idle told reporters. “He was telling me about filming at Stonehenge and his ideas for the sequel. This is so awful. I shall miss him.”
Reiner had also teased a long-lost Jesus comeback sketch he co-wrote with Steve Martin — a what-if scenario about Christ returning to modern-day Earth.
“I’m gonna try one more time,” he said in a September interview. Sadly, that one more time never came.
With Reiner’s death, the project dies too — and Hollywood is mourning not only the loss of a great director, but the unmade film he never got to unleash on the world.

Just so glad this retarded, arrogant Jew died by ANY method before he could make a movie ridiculing Christians again. Many, many movies could be made ridiculing his racist, far Left progressive bullshit.
