It wouldn’t be a White House story without a little chaos — and this one involves shoes, Stallone, and an eyebrow-raising punchline from President Donald Trump himself.

According to Vice President JD Vance, a routine Oval Office meeting turned into something straight out of The Apprentice: NSFW Edition. Vance shared the wild moment during a Christmas party he hosted Friday night in D.C. — with none other than Rocky legend Sylvester Stallone as guest of honor.

“Today I’m in the Oval Office with the president and Marco Rubio, and we’re talking about something really important,” Vance told the crowd. “The president kind of holds up his hand and says, ‘No, no, no, hold on a second. There’s something much more important. Shoes.’”

What happened next had the party cracking up. Trump apparently decided everyone’s footwear needed an upgrade — handing out catalogs, asking for shoe sizes, and turning the policy meeting into a full-blown fashion intervention.

When Rubio admitted to being an 11.5 and Vance said he wore a size 13, Trump asked another politician — “who I won’t embarrass,” Vance teased — what his size was. The man answered “seven.” That’s when Trump leaned back and dropped the line that froze the room:
“You know, you can tell a lot about a man by his shoe size.”

Cue laughter — and an epic side-eye from Second Lady Usha Vance. “We won’t ask the second lady for comment on that one,” JD joked.

The rest of the night took a more sentimental turn, as Vance paid tribute to Stallone — who’ll be honored at the Kennedy Center Honors this weekend — praising the actor’s decades of representing working-class America. “He showed that people like us could make the American dream a reality,” Vance said.

Still, it’s safe to say the most memorable quote of the night didn’t come from Rocky Balboa — it came from the president, proving once again that in Trump’s White House, even a meeting about policy can end up… below the belt.
