Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, is facing brutal online ridicule after a painfully obvious Photoshop fail turned what was supposed to be a wholesome Thanksgiving message into a viral embarrassment.
The 71-year-old environmental lawyer-turned-Trump ally posted what appeared to be a heavily edited photo on X showing himself, President Trump, Elon Musk, and Donald Trump Jr. enjoying a “healthy” Thanksgiving meal aboard Trump Force One. The only problem? The photo was fake — and painfully so.
The Awkward Edit That Started It All
The original image, shared by Donald Trump Jr. in November 2024 shortly after his father’s re-election, showed the group digging into the president’s favorite meal: McDonald’s. The table was piled high with Big Macs, fries, and Cokes — a now-iconic shot of Trump’s signature fast-food fandom.
At the time, Don Jr. joked, “Make America Healthy Again starts TOMORROW.”
But this Thanksgiving, RFK Jr. tried to rewrite history — swapping burgers for Brussels sprouts, fries for corn, and soda for cranberry juice. His caption: a simple “Happy Thanksgiving!”
The post immediately drew attention — and mockery. Critics pointed out bizarre AI-looking details, including warped hands and rubbery food textures. “That’s more stuffing than RFK’s eaten in twenty years,” one user wrote. Another asked, “Is that hand… real?”
The Internet Turns Savage
Within hours, “RFK Jr. Photoshop” was trending, with thousands of users piling on. “They made you eat a Happy Meal to prove you weren’t a cop, bro,” one commenter joked. Another noted, “The turkey looks like it was rendered by a PlayStation 2.”
Even Elon Musk chimed in with a cryptic emoji reply — a laughing face followed by a robot — fueling speculation that he found the situation just as ridiculous as everyone else.
Still, a few supporters came to Kennedy’s defense. “That meal is WAY better and more MAHA than the original McDonald’s photo,” one fan posted, using the administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” slogan. Another added, “We have the funniest administration in history.”
Trump’s Fast-Food Legacy Lives On
Despite Kennedy’s effort to promote a cleaner image, President Trump’s devotion to McDonald’s has only grown during his second term. Speaking at the McDonald’s Impact Summit earlier this month, Trump proudly told attendees, “As you may have heard, I’m one of your all-time most loyal customers. I even got Bobby Kennedy to eat a Big Mac — and he told me he loved it.”
For Trump, the fast-food chain has long been a political symbol — populist, American, and unapologetically indulgent. For Kennedy, the image has become an awkward reminder of his uneasy place in a Cabinet built around personality more than policy.
A Lesson in Digital Dieting
The failed edit highlights the ongoing image struggle within Trump’s inner circle — between authenticity and optics. Political strategist Amanda Klein told The Washington Journal, “It’s the perfect metaphor for this administration. You can try to dress it up, but everyone still sees the grease stains.”
As one user summed it up bluntly under Kennedy’s post: “The only thing more fake than that turkey is your public health campaign.”
