She did teenage stuff. But every time something happened, I’d think, ‘Oh my God, they’re going to end up on the street, they’re going to be addicts.’”

In another candid moment earlier this year, Michelle shared how she once called out Barack for missing precious family time: “I’d start singing, ‘Cats in the cradle and the silver spoon,’ because that song is so profound. I told him, ‘You’re going to look up and the girls will be gone.’ Parents don’t realize how small that window is when your kids still want to be around you.”
