When President Donald Trump re-entered the White House in 2025, many of his diehard supporters believed their loyalty would finally pay off. But for some, that faith is now costing them hundreds — even thousands — of dollars.
According to a flood of one-star reviews on Trustpilot, a growing number of MAGA supporters say they’ve been “scammed” by GetTrumpWatches.com, a luxury watch brand promoted by Trump himself during late-night TV segments.
“I’ve supported President Trump since day one,” wrote Ralph Higgins, a 74-year-old retiree from Florida. “But after five months, no watch, no refund. It feels like he broke my trust and my wallet.”
“Scam” Accusations Multiply
The watches — made by a Wyoming-registered company called TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC — range from $499 to $2,999, with an “Ultra Mega Collector Set” topping $5,000. The marketing boasts “Swiss precision” and “presidential quality.” But 57 percent of reviewers gave the brand one star, calling it a “rip-off” and “un-American.”
“My daughters ordered a Trump watch for my 80th birthday,” another fan lamented. “Five months later, still nothing. It’s a disgrace.”
Others from across the globe — including customers in Sweden, Norway, and Switzerland — shared similar stories. “Absolutely horrible customer service,” one Swiss buyer posted. “Do not buy any of these garbage products. Avoid like the plague!!”
A Familiar Trump Pattern
The complaints come as the administration faces mounting backlash over the ongoing federal government shutdown, which has frozen healthcare subsidies and furloughed thousands of workers. Trump’s televised watch ads — aired on Fox and Newsmax — have sparked outrage for their timing.
“NO HEALTH CARE FOR YOU BUT YOU MUST BUY MY WATCH!!” California Gov. Gavin Newsom mocked in a viral post, slamming the president’s decision to promote luxury goods while millions lose insurance coverage.
The watch controversy also evokes Trump’s long history of questionable ventures — from Trump University to Trump Steaks. Even his own secretary of state, Marco Rubio, once joked back in 2016, “If Trump hadn’t inherited money, he’d be out on Fifth Avenue selling watches.”
Now, it seems that’s not far from reality.
The Company’s Response
When reached for comment, TheBestWatchesonEarth LLC said negative reviews were “fake news,” claiming “tens of thousands of satisfied customers.” In an email, a customer service rep named Ryan insisted that some complaints had been “resolved” and that all testimonials on the official website were “verified and five stars.”
But watchdog groups say the company’s fine print tells another story — warning of “extended delivery times” and refusing to guarantee refunds.
“Classic Trump business tactics,” said Eleanor Marks, an ethics researcher at Georgetown University. “Overpromise, underdeliver, and blame everyone else.”
What’s Inside the “Trump Timepiece”
The company’s website features several limited-edition models:
- $799 “Crypto President 47” – said to commemorate Trump’s “embrace of Bitcoin.”
- $899 “First Lady Rose” – advertised with “eleven VS1 diamonds that sparkle when you walk into the room.”
- $1,199 “Victory Unlimited Jewel” – promoted as celebrating “President Trump’s triumphant return.”
Yet, experts note that none of the watches appear to be made in Switzerland. Instead, records trace the manufacturer’s address to a Wyoming shopping center, raising doubts about their “Swiss-made” claims.
The Bigger Picture
The watch scandal is part of a broader pattern of personal enrichment throughout Trump’s second term. A 2025 investigation by The New Yorker estimated that the Trump family has earned over $3.4 billion during his presidency from side deals, licensing fees, and media ventures.
“These watches aren’t just about telling time,” said Robert Stinson, a former Trump voter from Ohio. “They’re about telling the story of how he keeps finding ways to sell us something — even when we’re the ones paying the price.”
Despite the backlash, Trump Watch ads continue to air, complete with the president’s booming promise: “Time is on our side — the Trump side!”
For many loyal supporters still waiting for their orders, though, it seems time — and patience — have already run out.
