California Governor Gavin Newsom is once again taking direct aim at President Donald Trump — this time with one of his sharpest jabs yet.
On Tuesday, Newsom’s press office blasted the president after a fresh Truth Social tirade in which Trump attacked a supposed plan to build low-income housing in Pacific Palisades and recycled debunked claims about California’s wildfire response.
“Take your dementia meds, grandpa,” Newsom’s office posted on X. “You are making things up again.”
Trump’s post accused Newsom of pushing “Low Income Housing” in the wealthy Los Angeles enclave — something local officials and housing advocates say is simply false.
“There is no state effort targeting new low-income housing in the Pacific Palisades,” Newsom’s team clarified, citing a Los Angeles Times report dispelling rumors that wealthy residents were being “pushed out.” The governor’s office reminded Trump’s followers that state governors do not issue housing permits — and that “no such thing” as a federal housing permit exists.
The president also revived an earlier claim that California “bungled” its wildfire response by refusing “hundreds of millions of gallons of water” from the Pacific Northwest — a logistical impossibility, as experts have repeatedly explained.
“Trump doesn’t even understand how California’s water system works,” environmental policy expert Daniel Cress told MSNBC on Tuesday night. “This is pure misinformation designed to score cheap points.”
Newsom wasn’t alone in firing back. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, another frequent Trump target, accused the president of suffering from memory lapses that make his threats meaningless.
“I have said before that you can’t take anything he says seriously from one day to the next,” Pritzker told reporters. “Sometimes, he forgets. I think he might be suffering from some dementia. The next day, he’ll wake up on the other side of the bed and stop talking about Chicago. I’ve never really counted on anything he said as real.”
Pritzker’s remarks come after Trump threatened to deploy the National Guard to Chicago as part of his hardline immigration crackdown — a move critics say is more about flexing power than public safety.
The Trump White House responded with characteristic vitriol. “Newscum and Sloppy JB are two peas in a pod,” spokesperson Abigail Jackson told reporters. “Not only are they stupid, but they’re forcing their constituents to suffer under failed left-wing policies because of their severe Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Trump’s health has been under heavy scrutiny since the president was spotted in recent weeks with a bruised hand, swollen ankles, and what observers described as “droopy” facial features. Reports of memory lapses and odd rants have only fueled speculation.
The administration has countered those concerns by leaning on former White House physician — and now MAGA congressman — Rep. Ronny Jackson.
“President Donald J. Trump is the healthiest president this nation has ever seen,” Jackson declared in a statement, calling Trump “mentally and physically sharper than ever before.”
For Newsom, the spat represents more than just another internet brawl. The California governor has become one of Trump’s loudest Democratic critics, often mocking the president’s all-caps outbursts and slamming his policies as destructive.
“This isn’t just about Twitter fights,” Democratic strategist Maria Cardona told CNN. “It’s about exposing the fact that Trump is not fit to govern — mentally, physically, or morally. And Democrats like Newsom and Pritzker are making sure voters see that.”

Dementia is a horrible disease that effects the elderly & families that have to deal with a loved one having dementia its so disheartening.
