President Donald Trump’s once-bragged-about gains with Latino voters are collapsing, according to a new survey obtained by Politico. The poll, commissioned by the Latino advocacy group Somos Votantes, reveals that Trump’s favorability has sunk to double-digit lows across nearly every demographic of the Latino electorate.

In September, Trump’s favorability with Latino men—a group he often touted as central to his “working-class movement”—fell to 47 percent, down from 52 percent in May. Among young Latino voters, the numbers look even worse: support cratered from 43 percent in the spring to just 33 percent this fall.

“These are not just warning signs—they’re flashing red lights,” said Melissa Morales, president of Somos Votantes. “What began earlier this year with independents and women has really intensified and spread to basically every demographic subset of the Latino electorate, including groups that once leaned toward him like Latino men.”

Despite Trump’s constant campaign trail boasts about the “greatest economy ever,” Latino voters aren’t buying it. Only 36 percent gave him positive marks on the economy. The problem extends beyond party lines—just 25 percent of independents approved of his economic leadership.

Analysts point out that inflation, housing costs, and stalled immigration reform have left Latino families skeptical of Trump’s promises. Democrats see an opening.

“This won’t automatically translate to support for Democrats, but there is a huge opportunity to turn what was a liability into a positive,” Morales noted. “Latinos want real solutions—on jobs, healthcare, and immigration—not slogans and scapegoats.”

The timing could not be worse for Republicans. The Latino vote is critical for maintaining control of the House in 2026, especially in battleground states like Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. Democrats believe Trump’s decline offers a roadmap for reclaiming lost ground.

History suggests that when Latino voters mobilize, they can swing entire elections. In 2020, Trump made unexpected inroads in South Florida and South Texas. But in 2025, the tide may be turning again.

“Latinos are done being used as political props,” said Ana María Archila, a progressive activist and 2022 lieutenant governor candidate in New York. “They want leaders who listen, not politicians who demonize immigrants while cutting deals for billionaires.”

With Trump already under fire for his handling of immigration raids and mass deportation plans earlier this year, Democrats are preparing to sharpen their pitch. Campaign strategists suggest focusing on cost-of-living relief and healthcare expansion—issues where Trump polls especially poorly.

If the current trend holds, Trump’s much-publicized “Latino surge” of 2024 could prove to be a short-lived mirage.

  1. Totally false Demo God’s who lost the Hispanic vote by letting 20 million illegals destroy Latino neighborhoods and jobs. Nothing more than fake news media BS. Dont go away mad just go away.

  2. You wish!!!!

Haven’t you seen what’s going on the world over since Trump’s attempted assignation and Charlie Kirk’s martyrdom? 60,000 people booked at cardinals stadium for his funeral services, 3 million people march in the UK, marches in Australia, Toronto, Thailand, Philippines, Japan etc? You deranged so called progressives are DONE!

The pendulum has finally swung back to common sense and common decency! Real borders and real immigration, trade that is fair and equal- not one sided, there are only two sexes, citizens have more rights than illegal aliens, citizens have more rights than violent criminals, free speech and on and on!

Notice there aren’t ANY violent riots like BLM and Antifa because MAGA and Turning point members and the rest of society are Citizens not criminals!

  3. A great many Latinos where I live. They love Trump. They are so happy he is deporting all the illegals. You better double-check your info!
