Joe Biden is facing another health scare as he recovers from surgery to remove cancerous lesions, a spokesperson confirmed Thursday. The news comes as the former president, 81, continues his battle with aggressive prostate cancer while also navigating relentless political attacks from Donald Trump and his allies.
Biden’s spokesperson, Kelly Scully, confirmed to the Associated Press that the procedure was successful, following Inside Edition footage showing the former president leaving a Delaware church with a visible scar on his forehead.
“President Biden underwent Mohs surgery, a highly effective treatment that removes cancerous tissue layer by layer until it’s gone,” Scully said. “He’s recovering and in good spirits.”
This isn’t Biden’s first fight against cancer. In 2023, doctors removed a basal cell carcinoma from his chest while he was in office. And earlier this year, his team revealed a far more serious diagnosis: an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has already spread to his bones.
Biden addressed the diagnosis in a heartfelt social media post: “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.”
The disease has long cast a shadow over the Biden family. In 2015, his eldest son, Beau Biden, died after a harrowing battle with brain cancer. First Lady Jill Biden has also undergone multiple procedures to remove cancerous lesions.
President Donald Trump, now in his second term, has wasted no time weaponizing Biden’s health struggles. After Biden’s prostate cancer announcement in May, Trump took to Truth Social, calling his predecessor a “decrepit corpse” and reigniting false claims about the 2020 election.
In June, Trump ordered a federal investigation into what he called the “autopen scandal,” alleging Biden was not personally signing key presidential orders and pardons during his time in office. Biden has strongly denied the allegations, dismissing them as “absurd political theater.”
Democratic strategist Andrea Mitchell criticized Trump’s remarks: “Weaponizing someone’s illness is a dangerous and dehumanizing tactic. Biden served this country honorably. Attacking his health shows how far Trump will go to score political points.”
Biden’s presidency ended in January 2025 after he withdrew from his re-election bid and endorsed then-Vice President Kamala Harris. His decision followed mounting concerns over his age, stamina, and mental sharpness during the 2024 campaign trail.
In his first televised interview since leaving office, Biden admitted he bears “some responsibility” for Trump’s return to the White House. “I believed I could beat him again,” he told ABC News in May. “But the country needed a fresh voice, and I stepped aside.”
While Trump has capitalized on Biden’s condition, his own health has raised questions. At 79, Trump is the oldest president ever inaugurated. Recent photos have shown bruising on his hands and swelling in his legs.
The White House attributes these symptoms to chronic venous insufficiency, a condition where blood struggles to circulate from the legs back to the heart. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt downplayed concerns, citing “frequent handshaking” and “aspirin use” as explanations for the bruising. Still, some doctors note that Trump’s age and reported reliance on blood thinners could make him more vulnerable.
Biden’s health struggles have become more than a personal battle — they’ve become a political flashpoint in a deeply divided America. Democrats are rallying around him as a symbol of resilience, while Republicans seize every opportunity to frame him as unfit for leadership.
As the 2026 midterms approach, one thing is clear: Biden’s fight with cancer isn’t just his own. It’s unfolding on a national stage, intertwined with Trump’s polarizing presidency and America’s ongoing identity crisis.

We don’t want to hear about The Worst President in history any more…
I don’t wish him death, but won’t be sorry when he’s gone!
If what he did to the United States for four years is considered “honorable” then the people who can spew these lies should be ashamed of themselves. Lies are lies that can’t be forgiven…ever.
No one cares
I’m looking for larger space for more relevant news topics to discuss than to constantly dwell on the busted Biden saga. He’s in our rear-view mirror now, lets put the peddle to the metal, and allow those rear view mirror views to fade into the distant past. Surely over the past 4 years under Biden, the left leaning American voter has learned lesson of not repeating what this nation went thru. That definition of insanity is so appropriate here, and that they keep voting for the same things, but expecting different results. A snake is a snake, and will always be a snake. Cannot put lipstick on a rattle snake and expect it to be more docile. Ain’t gonna happen leftist friends. So it is high time all you lefties out there get a grip on reality, and start voting for the future of your families and children. Stop this voting for socialist and communism – Please….!
HE\’S STILL ALIVE???? Sort of.
Trump is just a nasty bullying creep. His viscious comments on another person’s illness or medical needs are rude, uncalled for, and designed to cast aspersions anywhere but upon himself which as we all see make , us listen to more of his vile rhetoric
