Joe Biden’s post-White House life was supposed to be filled with lucrative speaking engagements, memoir deals, and moments of reflection. Instead, the former president finds himself sidelined, silenced, and, in the words of one longtime ally, “systematically erased” by Donald Trump’s new era of political retribution.

Sources close to Biden confirm that a string of high-profile paid appearances — some fetching as much as $300,000 per event — were abruptly canceled after Trump’s team reportedly warned organizers they would face “serious consequences” for hosting the man he replaced.

“It’s not just politics. It’s punishment,” a Democratic strategist familiar with the situation told us. “Trump is using the weight of the presidency to make sure Joe Biden disappears from public life.”

Since reclaiming the White House in January, Trump has made no secret of his desire to “destroy Biden’s legacy.” At rallies, he blames the 46th president for “everything from open borders to exploding grocery prices” — even accusing Biden of “dragging us to the edge of World War III.”

Political historian Dr. Elena Ruiz of Georgetown University calls the situation “unprecedented in modern American history.”

“Past presidents may have had rivalries,” Ruiz explained, “but nothing compares to a sitting president actively weaponizing his influence to dismantle the reputation and livelihood of his predecessor. We’re in uncharted territory.”

Before Trump’s return to power, Biden’s team had lined up nearly 20 paid speaking engagements for 2025. Now, only five events remain on the calendar, and just one of them pays.

Among the canceled stops were appearances at major universities, corporate leadership summits, and international policy forums. Organizers, particularly those reliant on federal funding, reportedly grew wary of “inviting the wrath” of a president known for publicly targeting his critics.

“It’s a chilling effect,” said one Ivy League administrator whose school withdrew its offer to host Biden. “We simply can’t afford to put ourselves in Trump’s crosshairs.”

For Biden, the blow is both financial and personal. After leaving office, he was expected to follow in Barack Obama’s footsteps, raking in millions through speeches and book deals. Instead, his team estimates losses “well into the eight figures” as bookings evaporate.

Biden, now 82, is also quietly battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer, according to two individuals close to his family. Public appearances have been limited, and Jill Biden has reportedly urged him to “focus on his health and happiness” rather than chasing canceled deals.

Despite his declining visibility, Biden remains defiant in private conversations. “I beat him once, and I could’ve done it again,” he told a small group of donors earlier this summer, according to one attendee. “Trump knows that. That’s why he wants me gone.”

Leading Democrats are voicing growing concerns over what they call “Trump’s intimidation state.” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer warned last week that “America cannot allow the Oval Office to become a weapon against political opponents,” calling the suppression of Biden’s public voice “a dark warning sign for our democracy.”

Progressive groups are pushing back, launching petitions and lobbying speaking venues to resist pressure from the Trump administration. But insiders admit the fear is real.

“This is about power, plain and simple,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). “When a president can scare schools, nonprofits, and businesses into silence, we’re heading down a dangerous path.”

Biden’s $10 million memoir, expected to be released next year, may become his primary avenue to “tell his side of the story.” Sources say the book will address everything from his 2024 election defeat to his private clashes with Trump during the transition period.

Whether Americans will hear from him before then remains uncertain. For now, the man who once occupied the highest office in the land has been effectively muted.

“This is exactly what Trump wants,” a longtime Biden adviser said. “To rewrite history while Joe fades into the background. The question is — will the country let him?”

Thinks he had any kind of luck, putting him himself out in public again would’ve been a laughing stock. The last four years at least in my lifetime or unbelievable. The amount of incompetence and his administration especially because it sure as hell wasn’t him. Took our country to new Lowe’s with the rest of the world laughing at us. They’re not laughing anymore though are they. I’m surprise you Biden people still show your faces.
