FBI Raids Former Trump Adviser John Bolton’s Home

In a stunning early-morning operation Friday, FBI agents stormed the Bethesda, Maryland, home of John Bolton — Donald Trump’s former national security adviser turned fierce political adversary — as part of what sources describe as a “high-level national security investigation.”

The raid began just after 6 a.m., with armed federal agents pounding on Bolton’s front door. According to law enforcement officials briefed on the operation, the search warrant is tied to suspicions that Bolton “illegally retained classified documents” after leaving the White House in 2019.

“This is about national security, not politics,” an FBI official told NBC News. “We are following the evidence, wherever it leads.”

Once one of Trump’s most trusted foreign policy hawks, Bolton — a longtime Republican insider — was appointed National Security Adviser in April 2018. But their relationship soured rapidly.

“This is naked political retribution. John Bolton has been one of President Trump’s most outspoken critics, and now, just months into Trump’s second term, the FBI is at his doorstep.”

Neighbors in Bolton’s quiet Bethesda neighborhood said they were jolted awake by shouting and flashing lights.
