Trump Melts Down Over MSNBC Mockery as Health Concerns Mount

President lashes out after report highlights alleged “cankle cover-up” amid Oval Office photo tricks and bruising rumors

President Donald Trump erupted in an all-caps tirade on Truth Social Wednesday morning after MSNBC mocked what it called the White House’s “cankle cover-up,” accusing staffers of working overtime to hide evidence of his swelling ankles.

The 79-year-old president, already under scrutiny for his health and erratic behavior, unloaded on the network’s rebrand to “MS NOW” while blasting parent company Comcast and longtime MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell.

“MSNBC IS DOING SO BADLY IN THE RATINGS THAT THEY’RE CHANGING THEIR NAME TO ESCAPE THE STENCH OF THEIR FAKE NEWS PRODUCT!” Trump raged. “SO MUCH FUN WATCHING WEAK AND INEFFECTIVE ‘CONCAST,’ LED BY DOPEY BRIAN ROBERTS, FLOP AROUND LIKE A DEAD FISH TRYING TO DISSOCIATE FROM THE GARBAGE THEY CREATED. MSNBC IS A FAILURE BY ANY NAME!!!”

The meltdown came after “The Last Word” host Lawrence O’Donnell aired a segment Tuesday night suggesting that the White House has been strategically hiding Trump’s ankles in official photos and meetings.

O’Donnell pointed to a recent Oval Office meeting with European leaders, where Trump remained seated behind the Resolute Desk instead of the traditional fireside chairs.

“Trump wasn’t hiding his policies,” O’Donnell said. “He was hiding his ankles. No one was going to compare them to the French president’s ankles, or the German chancellor’s, or the British prime minister’s.”

But Trump’s workaround didn’t always succeed. At a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last Friday, the two leaders sat in open chairs, exposing Trump’s visibly swollen ankles.

“Putin’s 72-year-old ankles showed none of the mileage,” O’Donnell jabbed. “Meanwhile, Trump’s looked like they were carrying the weight of every Big Mac he’s ever eaten.”

Behind the scenes, the West Wing appears to be working overtime to manage the optics. In an official photo of Trump’s recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a model of Air Force One was conveniently placed on the desk — directly blocking the president’s ankles from view.

A senior administration official, speaking anonymously, admitted there has been “a deliberate effort to avoid unnecessary speculation.”

But critics say the optics strategy is backfiring. “The White House thinks they’re hiding a health issue,” said Democratic strategist Maria Alvarez. “All they’re doing is fueling more questions.”

Medical experts note that Trump’s apparent swelling could be linked to chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition in men over 70 where weakened vein valves cause blood to pool in the legs.

O’Donnell also implied Trump’s decades-long fast-food obsession might be accelerating the problem:

“That’s what a lifetime of McDonald’s does,” he said. “Eventually, the Big Macs show up somewhere — and in Trump’s case, they’re hanging over his shoes.”

Compounding the speculation, Trump has repeatedly been photographed with what appear to be makeup patches covering bruises on his hands — most recently during a February meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

For a president who thrives on projecting strength, MSNBC’s mockery and the resulting meltdown highlight a growing narrative Democrats have been eager to exploit: Trump’s age, health, and fitness for office.

“Americans deserve a president who’s transparent about their health,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) told reporters Wednesday. “We can’t have a White House staging photos to hide reality.”

So far, the White House has denied all claims of a cover-up and insists the president is in “excellent health.”

But as Trump’s outbursts grow louder, and his critics dig deeper, the question remains: how much longer can the optics game hold?
