Chaos erupted at Orlando International Airport last Thursday when an enraged passenger launched a violent tirade against a Southwest Airlines gate agent after missing multiple standby flights.
The shocking outburst, caught on camera by bystander Peyton Turberville, unfolded after the unidentified woman failed to secure a seat on three consecutive flights. According to Turberville, the traveler tried to storm through a closed gate before being stopped by airline staff.
“She tried to get in through the gate after it closed and they asked her to stop,” Turberville told Storyful.
In the viral video, the woman can be seen repeatedly screaming, “Are you kidding me?” as she storms up to a gate agent wearing a pink shirt. The agent, visibly trying to keep his composure, asks her to step back. Instead, she lashes out and kicks him.
From behind the camera, Turberville can be heard reacting: “Ooh, that’s assault.”
But the situation only spiraled further. The irate traveler paces back and forth, shouting incoherently before returning to the counter and punching a computer monitor, sending it crashing to the ground as stunned passengers gasp.
“You wasted two flights!” she screams. “Three planes! After 45 minutes!”
Despite her fury, the gate agent refuses to engage and calmly walks away. The woman follows him briefly, yelling at bystanders to “call the police,” before giving up and storming off.
It’s unclear if the passenger was arrested following the incident. Orlando International Airport police have not released a statement, and Southwest Airlines declined to comment.
This latest incident comes amid a surge in air travel confrontations across the country. According to Federal Aviation Administration data, reports of unruly passengers spiked during the pandemic and remain higher than pre-2020 levels.
“Airports are stressful environments, and tempers can boil over quickly,” aviation analyst Mark Reynolds told us. “But physically assaulting staff and destroying equipment crosses a line that usually leads to serious consequences.”

People are nuckin futs!!
So many demonic people Sent from my iPhone
It’s hard to understand what this crazy woman wanted them to do! Did she expect them to throw someone off the plane so she could go? Not just her but her children too?
I’m sure it is frustrating, esp. with kids in tow but civility has gone out the window. Air travel has become more difficult these days.
From the post, I don’t understand why she couldn’t get on her flight.
If she was late to check in? Why three flights?
IED really like a clearer description? Just to be fair!
That’s why they call it “Standby”! If she wanted a full ticket with a boarding pass she should have bought one. Standby means you standby waiting for some one to either not show up or cancel their ticket. How many kids did she have with her? Even more unlikely to obtain several tickets.
I dread air travel … you are crammed like sardines into small seats.
Have you ever has to share a seat with an obese passenger? No fun! And I’m not small my self…. my next trip, I plan to drive…if it’s not over seas.!!
Trains more trains and they need to have dining cars with silver, china ,napkins and finger bowls. A club car would also be nice.
