‘Morning Joe’ Erupts on MAGA Congressman in Heated On-Air Clash

Tensions boiled over on live television Friday morning when Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough clashed with Republican Congressman Mike Lawler (R-NY) over the fallout from President Trump’s historic slashing of Medicaid.

The segment, which was supposed to be a policy discussion, quickly spiraled into a shouting match after Lawler dismissed concerns from medical professionals in his own district as “parroting” political talking points.

“What I’m saying, Joe, is they’re all parroting the same line from the state of New York and Greater New York Hospital Association,” Lawler insisted. “The real problem is mismanagement at the state level.”

“Congressman, you’re dodging,” he shot back. “Twelve million people are about to lose health care, and you’re blaming New York State? These hospitals are begging for help—and you’re accusing them of reading off a script?”

Health leaders and Democrats in Lawler’s district wasted no time responding.

“Congressman Lawler just told every nurse, every doctor, and every administrator that their expertise doesn’t matter,” said Dr. Lisa Martinez, director of community outreach at Montefiore. “He’s defending Trump over the people who save lives in his own community. That’s disgraceful.”

State Senator Elijah Greene, a Democrat representing parts of the same area, called Lawler’s comments “a slap in the face” to local health workers.
