In a stunning revelation that threatens to send shockwaves through Washington and the 2024 election aftermath, a top attorney representing victims of Jeffrey Epstein says a scandalous birthday book allegedly containing a lewd letter from President Donald Trump is real—and could be turned over immediately if Congress acts.
Bradley Edwards, a Florida attorney who has represented more than 200 of Epstein’s victims, told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell Wednesday night that the infamous “50th birthday book”—first reported by The Wall Street Journal—is “an absolute fact.”
What’s in the Book?
According to WSJ, the 2003 book allegedly includes a graphic hand-drawn sketch of a nude woman, with Trump’s signature scribbled where the woman’s pubic hair would be. The letter, reportedly penned by Trump during his years of socializing with Epstein, was described as vulgar and crude.
Trump, now the sitting president again in 2025, has dismissed the letter as “fake” and is suing the Journal for defamation.
But Edwards isn’t backing down.
“I’ve spoken to multiple victims who helped assemble that book,” he said. “They were directed by Ghislaine Maxwell herself to participate in its creation. Others saw it afterwards. The book is real. There’s no question.”
Hidden in Plain Sight?
Even more explosive is Edwards’ claim that the birthday book is currently in the hands of the Epstein estate in Florida—and could be retrieved with a simple congressional subpoena.
“I know the estate’s executors personally,” Edwards told O’Donnell. “If Congress subpoenas the book, they’ll hand it over immediately. No hesitation. You’d open it, see what’s in it, and be done. This doesn’t need to be a mystery. The victims deserve answers.”
He added that if released, “this book belongs in the Smithsonian as an artifact of how power and corruption intersected in the Epstein saga.”
Victims Are Watching—And Worried
Edwards warned that the reemergence of Epstein in the political conversation is already retraumatizing survivors.
“We’re talking about victims who were 14, 15, 16 years old—children. They are watching this unfold again like it’s just gossip or a political weapon,” he said. “But for them, it’s their lives.”
He also expressed deep concern about the Biden Justice Department’s recent contact with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence in federal prison.
“That she’s even being visited in jail now, being treated like some credible source, has sent a shockwave through the survivor community,” Edwards said. “Many are asking me, ‘Is Trump going to pardon her if she plays ball?’”
Democratic Lawmakers Respond Swiftly
Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) didn’t waste time.
Speaking moments after Edwards’ interview, Khanna told O’Donnell he plans to work with the House Oversight Committee to issue a subpoena for the book.
“I think we can move on this quickly,” Khanna said. “This isn’t about politics. This is about justice. The victims deserve transparency.”
He followed up with a tweet:
“Bombshell revelation by Bradley Edwards on The Last Word tonight. The Epstein birthday book is in the hands of the estate. Lawyers are ready to turn it over. I’ll work with @OversightDems to subpoena it. Justice must come first.”
A White House in Silence
The Trump White House has so far refused to comment on the growing scandal. Sources inside the administration say officials are in “full damage-control mode” following the Wall Street Journal’s exposé.
The controversy comes as the president continues to face questions about his historic ties to Epstein and Maxwell. Photos of Trump partying with both have resurfaced in recent weeks, stoking public outrage and deepening skepticism about the administration’s refusal to address the matter.
The Bigger Picture
While Republicans focus on conspiracy theories involving Epstein’s death, Democrats are shifting the spotlight back onto his living network—and asking hard questions about who still holds power and secrets.
For Edwards, the message is clear: “This can’t be buried. This can’t be ignored. Get the book. Redact the victim names. Release it. The public deserves to know who was involved—and the victims deserve peace.”
As for what’s inside?
“You’ll have to see it,” Edwards said. “But make no mistake—history will judge how we handle this moment.”
