Trump’s Sketchy Epstein Lie Instantly Backfires

President Donald Trump is once again under fire—this time for a lie that unraveled in record time.

Hours after Trump flatly denied ever sketching anything in his life—while distancing himself from a disturbing claim that he sent a signed drawing of a naked woman to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein—several of the president’s own doodles reemerged online. And they tell a very different story.

“I never wrote a picture in my life,” Trump declared in a statement Thursday, responding to a Wall Street Journal report alleging he contributed a bawdy sketch to Epstein’s 50th birthday book in 2003.

On Truth Social, Trump lashed out:

“These are not my words, not the way I talk. Also, I don’t draw pictures. FAKE!”

But as it turns out—he does. And he has. Repeatedly.

Receipts Don’t Lie

Within hours, images of Trump’s signed sketches began circulating online, including one from his 2008 book Never Give Up, in which he openly brags about his “new talent” for drawing. In the book, he states:

“It takes me a few minutes to draw something, in my case, it’s usually a building or a cityscape of skyscrapers.”

Trump added that while art “may not be [his] strong point,” he draws to support charities.

Even more damning: some of those drawings were done around the same time he allegedly sent Epstein a graphic sketch. The drawing in question was reportedly included in a gift book compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein’s birthday and featured a naked woman, with “Donald” scribbled below the waist.

The message:

“Happy Birthday—and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

Trump called it a fabrication. But auction records beg to differ.

Follow the Art Trail

Between 2003 and 2006, Trump produced multiple signed sketches—often done in black marker and typically auctioned for charity. Among them:

• A 2003 sketch believed to be from the same year as the Epstein birthday drawing.
• A 2004 gold-colored cityscape, sold by Sotheby’s for $15,000.
• A 2005 NYC skyline drawing, auctioned for $29,184.
• Another 2005 doodle for St. Francis Food Pantries, sold for $20,000.
• A 2006 black marker drawing of the George Washington Bridge, sold for $4,480.
• A sketch of the Empire State Building, originally drawn at Mar-a-Lago, which sold for $16,000.

Notably, the 2006 “George Washington Bridge” piece shares striking similarities in style and medium with the sketch described in the Epstein book. Like the alleged Epstein sketch, it was executed in black marker and signed.

From Mar-a-Lago to Maxwell

While the White House deflected questions Friday—referring reporters back to Trump’s Truth Social denials—critics say this is just another example of the president’s habitual dishonesty, particularly when it comes to his long-documented ties to Epstein.

“He’s not just lying about art,” said a Democratic strategist on Friday. “He’s lying to distance himself from one of the most toxic scandals of his life.”

Indeed, Trump’s friendship with Epstein has haunted him since 2019, when resurfaced quotes and footage showed the two partying together in the 1990s. While Trump later claimed he “kicked Epstein out” of Mar-a-Lago, no official record of that action has been produced.

Now, in 2025, with Trump back in the White House and facing renewed scrutiny over his past, the resurfacing of these crude connections has reignited public concern.

“The issue here isn’t the drawing,” said Rep. Jasmine Cook (D-CA). “It’s the pattern of deception, the ties to Epstein, and the president’s refusal to own up to even the smallest truths.”

A Picture Worth a Thousand Lies

While Trump may brush off the controversy as “fake news,” his own words, books, and auctioned drawings tell a different story—one with pen strokes and signatures that can’t be denied.

And once again, the internet was faster than the White House spin.
