In a move that stunned fans of NBC’s Today, longtime meteorologist and co-host Dylan Dreyer has officially confirmed she’s no longer with her husband — who also happens to be one of the show’s cameramen.

In a somber Instagram post Friday, Dreyer, 43, revealed that she and Brian Fichera, 38, had quietly separated “a few months ago.” The couple, both NBC employees since 2012, had been married for over a decade and are parents to three young sons.

A Relationship Built on the Set — and Now Ending in Silence

Dreyer met Fichera behind the scenes at NBC, where he worked as a cameraman. The two married in 2012 and soon became one of Today’s most beloved off-camera love stories.

But this week, Dreyer made it official: the marriage is over.

“For many years I have shared my family with you all—the highs and lows, the ups and downs, and all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between,” she wrote in an all-caps statement posted to Instagram. “A few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate.”

The post came without warning. Dreyer disabled comments, offering no further details about the cause of the split.

A United Front — But for How Long?

What’s most surprising is how recent photos paint a very different picture. Just two weeks ago, Dreyer posted smiling family photos from the Macy’s July 4th Fireworks celebration — the same event she co-hosted on NBC. She also praised Fichera in a glowing Father’s Day tribute in June, writing, “We’re so lucky to have you.”

Observers now believe these posts were part of a strategic move to protect the couple’s public image — and perhaps their three children: Calvin (8), Oliver (5), and Rusty (3).

“We Will Remain the Closest of Friends”

In her statement, Dreyer emphasized that the split was not bitter.

“We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends,” she wrote. “Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another.”

Friends of the couple told Page Six off the record that the split had been in motion for some time, citing “growing apart” and “intense work schedules” as possible factors.

Neither NBC nor Dreyer’s co-hosts — Savannah Guthrie, Craig Melvin, or Al Roker — have publicly addressed the separation.

What Comes Next for Dreyer?

Dreyer remains a staple of Today’s Third Hour and continues to cover national weather events for NBC. Her fans have rallied around her in the past — through childbirths, a miscarriage, and a demanding broadcast schedule.

For now, Dreyer seems focused on the road ahead — both professionally and personally — and making sure her three sons remain her top priority.

“Thank you, as always, for your support,” she concluded. “It means the world.”
