Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel didn’t hold back during his latest monologue, jumping headfirst into a viral meme poking fun at President Donald Trump — and taking a parting shot at Elon Musk while he was at it.
“How does it feel to be on the other end of the nickname game?” Kimmel quipped at Trump. “Not great, does it?”
The comedian was referring to the trending “TACO” acronym — short for “Trump Always Chickens Out” — that’s been making the rounds online. Coined by Financial Times columnist Robert Armstrong, the jab highlights Trump’s constant flip-flopping on tariff policy and has become a favorite weapon for Democrats on social media.
“He called it a nasty question, but it seems to be catching on,” Kimmel said. “There’s been an outpouring of taco-themed AI on social media — all in celebration of our El Pollo Loco.”
Kimmel then dove into Trump’s trade policy chaos, saying, “Trump has changed his tariff policy more than 50 times, as any stable genius would, and that is starting to catch up to him.”
Just this week, the Court of International Trade reportedly ruled that Trump doesn’t have the legal authority to impose his latest wave of tariffs. According to Kimmel, the Justice Department immediately appealed, arguing that taking away Trump’s tariffs would hurt U.S. leverage — and potentially make him look weak on the global stage.
“Basically, the court pulled down his pants and showed China his little mushroom,” Kimmel cracked.
The host also took time to send off Elon Musk, who is officially stepping down from his role managing the controversial DOGE federal budget initiative after 130 days in office.
“He came, he chainsawed, we bled, he left,” Kimmel deadpanned.
Kimmel reminded viewers that Musk had initially promised DOGE would save taxpayers a trillion dollars — a number that’s since shrunk to around $160 billion. Meanwhile, critics argue the plan may have actually cost the country hundreds of billions.
“But here’s the thing,” Kimmel said with a grin. “Politics isn’t about money. It’s not about success. It’s not about failure. It’s about the lives of the civil servants you destroy along the way.”

In regards to the two comments here…trump has consistently insulted Jimmy K and is destroying our country, he is a convicted felon, was impeached, failed at multiple businesses, has destroyed our relationships either our former allies. Perhaps a little internet research would be helpful to you both. Oh don’t forget his father was a KKK Poona and he did every He could NIT to rent to poor or people of color.
The “convictions” are still in appeal and WILL be overturned. There was never a penal code attached to ANY of his charges. It was all theater. By that definition, President Trump is NOT a convicted felon. You just want to believe he is.

JK knows NOTHING about negotiations. President Trump is not chickening out. This is exactly how negotiations are done. Like when you go to buy a car – highballing to lowballing. And eventually all parties get some benefits.
