Jeffrey Epstein’s Brother Rages at FBI Chief Over Suicide Ruling

The brother of Jeffrey Epstein is firing back—loudly—after FBI Director Kash Patel claimed on national television that the disgraced financier’s 2019 death was unequivocally a suicide.

Mark Epstein, who has long questioned the government’s official narrative, accused Patel of spreading misinformation and dismissing evidence without firsthand knowledge.

“He wasn’t there. He didn’t see the body. He didn’t see the autopsy,” Mark told the Daily Mail following Patel’s appearance on Fox News. “He has no idea what the f*** he’s talking about.”

Patel, a controversial Trump-era figure elevated to FBI Director in 2024 under the current administration, appeared on Sunday Morning Futures alongside former Secret Service agent and current FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. Both men emphatically declared Epstein had taken his own life and labeled ongoing suspicions as little more than conspiracy chatter.

“He killed himself,” Bongino said bluntly. “I’ve seen the file.”

Patel echoed the sentiment: “As someone who’s worked across the system—as a public defender, prosecutor, and investigator—I know what suicide in custody looks like. That’s what this was.”

But Mark Epstein says the government’s story is full of holes.

“There are six levels of security in that building before you reach the tier where Jeff was held,” he said, referencing the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, one of the most secure federal jails in the country.

“And yet somehow, the cameras failed, the guards fell asleep, the logs vanished, and we’re just supposed to accept that? That’s a cover-up.”

Jeffrey Epstein, 66, was found dead on August 10, 2019, just five weeks after his arrest on federal charges of sex trafficking involving minors. His death was ruled a suicide by hanging using bedsheets. But the bizarre circumstances—non-working cameras, missing guard logs, and broken bones in Epstein’s neck more commonly associated with strangulation—sparked global controversy.

In the years since, both survivors and skeptics have demanded transparency.

“Survivors deserve answers,” said Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, who has repeatedly called for a public inquiry into Epstein’s jailhouse death and the broader failure of the federal system to hold him accountable.

“Whether you think Epstein killed himself or not, the real scandal is how someone charged with such heinous crimes, connected to so many powerful people, was left completely unprotected—deliberately or not. That’s what America needs answers to.”

The web of Epstein’s connections runs deep—and bipartisan.

He was known to socialize with former presidents, Wall Street titans, royalty, and global elites. A now-infamous photo of Epstein with Donald Trump, Melania Trump, and Ghislaine Maxwell at Mar-a-Lago in 2000 remains a haunting symbol of how closely tied Epstein was to centers of power.

In February of this year, government officials were photographed carrying binders marked “The Epstein Files: Phase 1”out of the West Wing. The Justice Department has yet to disclose what those files contain.

Mark Epstein, who has spent the last five years pushing for a reinvestigation, said Patel’s dismissiveness only strengthens his suspicion.

“It would be easier to believe it was suicide,” he admitted. “But the evidence doesn’t support it. You don’t get to declare something over just because it’s inconvenient.”

As America waits for the next release of Epstein-related files, one thing is clear: the questions surrounding his death—and the powerful names in his orbit—aren’t going away anytime soon.
