In a disturbing escalation of political rhetoric, longtime Trump adviser and convicted felon Roger Stone called for the execution of U.S. Senator Mark Kelly on Thursday, accusing the Arizona Democrat of “treason” for challenging Donald Trump’s crypto dealings.

Stone’s inflammatory comments came via X, where he accused Kelly—a Navy combat veteran, former NASA astronaut, and current U.S. Senator—of secretly aiding China and betraying the United States. His suggested punishment: death by execution.

What triggered the threat? A bill.
Kelly recently introduced the End Crypto Corruption Act, which would ban presidents, vice presidents, and their immediate families from issuing or promoting digital assets. The legislation specifically targets meme coins—a direct shot at Donald Trump, whose meme crypto token $TRUMP funnels 75% of its revenue to his family’s private accounts.

In a statement promoting the bill, Kelly didn’t mince words:

“Trump is cashing in on his presidency and making millions from his own crypto coins—this is corruption in broad daylight.”

Kelly’s office says the Trump family has raked in nearly $3 billion from crypto-related ventures since he left office. That now makes up close to 40% of the family’s known wealth.

Roger Stone’s reaction was immediate—and extreme.
He reposted Kelly’s press release with a shocking reply:

“He should be charged with treason and if convicted executed. He’s cashing in on his US Senate seat as a partner in a Chinese communist company that makes surveillance balloons.”

Let’s unpack the smear.
Stone’s accusation references Kelly’s early involvement with World View Enterprises, a high-altitude balloon company he co-founded in 2012. The firm received $3 million in early-stage investment from Chinese tech giant Tencent—long before Kelly’s Senate career began. Kelly left the company in 2019 and has no operational role or decision-making power. He retains passive shares held in a blind trust, per standard ethics rules.

World View, for its part, has gone on record multiple times clarifying that:

  • Tencent has “zero control, zero access, and zero say” in company operations.
  • The Chinese funding was a mistake and ended years ago.
  • Kelly has had no involvement with the company since before his campaign.

Still, MAGA-aligned figures like Stone continue to falsely conflate Kelly’s past business dealings with espionage—even suggesting ties to the Chinese surveillance balloon shot down over U.S. territory in 2023, which the company had no connection to.

This isn’t the first attack.
Back in March, Elon Musk called Kelly a “traitor” for traveling to Ukraine to reaffirm U.S. support for the war-torn country. That visit made Kelly a target for far-right influencers still pushing pro-Russia narratives and opposing aid to Ukraine.

Now, with the 2024 election behind us and Trump back in power, the political climate has only grown more dangerous for public servants who speak out.

A Warning Sign of What’s to Come?
Legal experts have condemned Stone’s remarks. “Calling for a sitting senator to be executed for doing his job is not free speech—it’s stochastic terrorism,” said retired Judge Lisa Mendoza, who served on the Arizona Court of Appeals. “It invites violence and undermines democratic norms.”

Stone, who was convicted in 2019 for lying to Congress, obstruction, and witness tampering before receiving a full pardon from Trump, has made a name for himself by pushing extremist views. But this latest outburst could mark a new low—even for him.

Senator Kelly’s office declined to respond directly to Stone’s statement but reiterated his commitment to fighting political corruption and defending American democracy:

“Mark Kelly served 25 years in the U.S. Navy and flew combat missions in defense of our country. He’s not intimidated by online threats.”

Meanwhile, Democrats on Capitol Hill are calling for the DOJ to investigate Stone’s comments as a potential incitement of violence against a sitting elected official.

How long will Trump allies be allowed to push for political violence before there are consequences?

    1. Phony Mark Kelley is an evil Democrat!
      – Democrats are Party of immoral weirdos, perverts, ILLEGALS, junkies, CRIME WAVE, criminals, and murderers! Why would anyone sane want to be part of that?

  1. Who gives a rat’s patoot about anything that traitorous turd Roger Stone says ? He should be serving life imprisonment for HIS traitorous conduct .

  2. How is this different from people calling for President Trump’s assassination, all his Cabinet, and anyone who agrees with President Trump’s policies.
All this fighting and “resistance” is making my head hurt!

  3. Let’s take it one step further. Let’s pass a law, or a Constitutional Amendment, that prohibits any government employee, including elected officials, from making any money or other gain based on information not available to the American public. Congresspeople who trade in the stock market tend to do about 12% better than the average American, but no one calls their knowledge of upcoming Congressional actions insider trading. There have been stories about local officials making money on not-yet-announced bankruptcies and foreclosures, as well as on contracts signed but not yet published to the People. How well would these government employees do if we ended their access to these sweet deals?
