Brad Arnold, the voice behind 3 Doors Down’s biggest hits, has shared heartbreaking news with fans: he’s battling stage 4 cancer.

In a deeply personal video posted to social media, the 46-year-old singer revealed he was recently diagnosed with clear cell renal carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of kidney cancer that has already spread to his lungs. The announcement has left fans stunned — and the band’s summer tour officially canceled.

Despite the devastating diagnosis, Arnold struck a hopeful tone. “I’m not scared at all,” he said, crediting his unwavering faith and adding that he’s putting his fight in God’s hands. He also shared that he’s adopted the band’s hit “It’s Not My Time” as his personal anthem in this battle.

“I’m sorry we can’t hit the road this summer,” he told fans, apologizing for the canceled tour dates. “But I’ve got a bigger fight ahead of me now.”

Arnold formed 3 Doors Down back in 1996 while still a teenager in Mississippi. He famously wrote the band’s breakout hit “Kryptonite” in high school — a song that catapulted them to rock stardom. Their debut album The Better Life went seven-times platinum, and their next three albums also hit platinum status.

Arnold remains the last original member of the band and its enduring heart. Fans across the world are now rallying behind him as he faces his biggest battle yet.
