Stephen Miller, former Trump White House aide and chief architect of his hardline immigration policies, unraveled on live television Monday morning—this time defending a deportation his own administration admitted was illegal.
In a heated Fox News segment, Miller screamed over anchor Bill Hemmer while justifying the unlawful removal of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland resident who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador last month.
“He was not mistakenly sent to El Salvador. He’s an illegal alien!” Miller shouted, as Hemmer struggled to get a word in. “His only options in life are to be deported to El Salvador or some other country. That’s it! He has a deportation order.”
But Miller’s version of events directly contradicts reality.
Garcia, who arrived in the U.S. at age 16 and had been living and working legally under a permit, was forcibly removed by ICE in what the Biden Justice Department later acknowledged was an “administrative error.” The deportation sparked national outrage after it was revealed Garcia was tossed into a notorious El Salvador prison, despite a federal court’s ruling that he could not be sent there due to credible threats from violent gangs.
The Supreme Court weighed in Thursday with a rare unanimous decision, ordering the U.S. government to bring Garcia back and calling the deportation unlawful.
Instead of accepting the ruling, Miller accused the courts of “judicial overreach” and claimed that returning Garcia would amount to “kidnapping” and violate “El Salvador’s sovereignty.”
“What are we supposed to do?” Miller barked. “Send in Navy SEALs to break him out of prison?”
Legal experts dismissed Miller’s comments as not only wrong, but inflammatory.
“There’s a process for complying with Supreme Court orders. This isn’t optional,” said immigration attorney Rebecca Sandoval. “The fact that Miller is equating a lawful return with a military extraction is absurd and dangerous.”
Making matters worse, Miller’s tirade included accusations that the media was colluding to manufacture a hoax about the deportation.
“You’ve all lied about this case!” he yelled, pointing into the camera. “He’s not some innocent victim.”
Garcia’s family, however, says otherwise.
“He never should’ve been sent back,” said Maria Abrego, Kilmar’s sister. “We followed every step of the law. He was doing everything right.”
The Salvadoran government has refused to release Garcia. President Nayib Bukele, a Trump ally who met with the former president Monday, flatly stated: “Of course I’m not going to.”
Legal scholars say the Biden administration now faces a serious dilemma—how to comply with the Supreme Court’s order without diplomatic cooperation from a foreign government that may be shielding a wrongful deportation to appease a past political alliance.
Miller’s latest on-air meltdown follows a string of angry tirades on Fox News, where he’s continued to promote Trump’s failed immigration policies and lash out at anyone who questions them.
At one point during the segment, Hemmer—visibly frustrated—tried to steer the conversation back to facts. “Give me a chance,” he pleaded. “You haven’t even allowed me to ask a question.”
Miller ignored him and kept shouting.
For many viewers, it was a familiar scene: another Trump official melting down under pressure, refusing to take responsibility, and attacking the very system of laws they once swore to uphold.

According to this story (which is supposedly current news) Miller a former Trump White House aid has a melt down in 60 minutes over this deportation that the Supreme Court overturned on Thursday and now THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION HAS DECISIONS TO MAKE??? The Biden Asministration ended in 1/20/25!!! So either this story is a rehash of a prior story to try to make Trump look bad that no one at Nextgennews.com proof read or your writers or editors must be on drugs!!!
I saw the interview on Fox. Steven Miller was making his points that the press and media distorted this picture of this illegal alien who was supposed to be deported back in 2019. Basically what Steven Miller is saying is that the district federal courts have been real to not be able to interfere with the executive Office’s deportation authority to remove illegal aliens especially the criminal ones who came here under Joe Biden‘s look the other way rules. Watching these people defend the illegal aliens is amazing. Why won’t these people interview the victims of those illegal aliens. My goodness, what part of the word illegal do they not understand?
No matter what Trump does he will always be wrong. We voted for someone who was strong and willing to defend this country. He is the man for the job.
He already had a prior deportation order. And at a later time identified as an MS13 gang member. Irregardless he is an illegal and has been deported. End of story. The media loves the illegal . Buy him a house in El Salvador and go live with him there! There are no sanctuary city in the US. No laws protect illegals here!
