CNN today shot down wild allegations by podcaster Joe Rogan. The claim? That CNN knew in advance about a planned assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
Rogan aired the theory during a Feb. 28 episode of his podcast with Elon Musk. He argued that CNN broadcast Trump’s Butler, Pennsylvania rally live because the network had insider tips. “I do not believe they did for any other rally, especially one in the middle of nowhere,” he claimed. Musk added, “It just makes no sense.”
The controversy stems from the July 13, 2024 incident in Butler. A shooting at the rally injured Trump, killed one attendee, and wounded another. Butler County officials confirmed the shooter was dead. This tragic event has since fueled intense political debates.
CNN responded swiftly on social media. A spokesperson stated,
“CNN provided live coverage of President Trump’s Butler, PA rally in anticipation of news about his Vice President pick. Any suggestion otherwise is completely false.”
Right-wing circles quickly ran with Rogan’s theory. Conservative billionaire Bill Ackman even took to X, asking, “What are the chances CNN was tipped off to stream the Butler rally? Why isn’t this worthy of an investigation?”
In the wake of these events, a bipartisan House task force was formed. Their 180-page report, released last December, detailed serious failures in planning and leadership. The report noted that these shortcomings created an environment ripe for violence. It also referenced a similar incident in Florida on Sept. 15, 2024.
CNN’s stance is clear. The network stands by its commitment to factual, transparent reporting. “Journalistic integrity is not up for debate,” a CNN official said. “Our coverage is guided solely by verified information.”
As the debate rages online, verified facts remain paramount. In an era of rampant misinformation, trusted news sources and bipartisan oversight continue to serve as essential pillars of accountability.

The idea that CNN knew ahead of time is preposterous, then we also have to assume the Secret Service was in it and that is why they did not checked the roof.
The assassination attempt it was sadly a moron with poor aim and trump protected by Satan was able to walk away from and have the morons vote for him.
Regardless a tragic day in American events. CNN use to cut away from President Trump speeches all the time when they disagreed with anything he was talking about as if we need the network to perform editorials of a speech. They were rude all the time to the President on the campaign trial and yet Trump went into the Lion’s den with CNN interviewers and blew them out of the water. This network needs to quit being a propaganda machine for Democrats and perform your constitutional duties report the facts on all three branches of Government we don’t need your opinions just the facts we will decide what is and what is not important. Do your job stop editorializing everything just shut and report the facts. Pretty simple.
