Trump posted the video on Instagram and Truth Social without comment. The footage is set to an upbeat dance track. A computerized voice chants, “Donald Trump will set you free, bringing the light for all to see.” The catchy refrain feels like a cult anthem.
The video shows luxury Trump hotels, towering Emirati-style skyscrapers, and beach resorts. Belly dancers and golden merchandise flash on screen. In one scene, Trump waltzes with a belly dancer in a nightclub. In another, a child clutches a helium balloon shaped like Trump’s head. A “Trump Gaza” shop sells glittering idols in his honor.
Even more bizarre is the cameo of a man resembling Elon Musk. He appears four times—twice snacking and twice flinging what looks like American cash to locals.
Trump’s vision is not entirely new. In recent weeks, he has floated plans to transform the war-torn enclave into a “Riviera of the Middle East.” Critics argue his proposals risk displacing Palestinians and echo a history of ethnic cleansing. One senior Democratic strategist warned,
“This isn’t policy—it’s a sideshow. Real people are suffering while Trump spins dangerous fantasies.”
A noted international relations expert added,
“Such spectacle trivializes the deep-rooted humanitarian crisis in Gaza. It undermines democratic values and international law.”
The video comes on the heels of escalating conflict. Following the October 7 Hamas attacks that killed over 1,100 people, Israeli forces launched a siege on Gaza. Nearly 50,000 Palestinians have lost their lives amid relentless bombings using U.S.-made ordnance. International outrage has mounted.
