“The whole bar just booed when Trump came on screen,” wrote a fan watching from New York City.
Another clip from a Chicago bar showed patrons erupting in loud jeers as Trump’s face appeared on the broadcast.
Trump’s appearance at the Super Bowl comes at a politically charged moment, as he gears up for a contentious 2024 re-election campaign. His presence at one of the nation’s biggest sporting events underscores his strategy of staying in the public eye, even in potentially hostile environments.
