Joe Rogan has revealed that he declined an interview request from Vice President Kamala Harris’s team after facing conditions he viewed as limiting, though he remains hopeful about a future conversation.

The influential podcaster shared that the vice president’s campaign suggested a short, one-hour session on their own terms, including him traveling to meet her.

“They offered a date for Tuesday, but I would have had to travel to her, and they only wanted to do an hour,” Rogan stated on X (formerly Twitter). “I strongly feel the best way to do it is in the studio in Austin.” Rogan emphasized, however, that the Harris campaign has “not passed on doing the podcast,” adding, “My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a human being. I really hope we can make it happen.”

The announcement followed former President Donald Trump’s recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience. The extensive, three-hour discussion, recorded at Rogan’s Austin studio, drew massive attention, with YouTube views soaring past 37 million.

During the episode, Trump expressed doubt that Harris would engage in a similarly lengthy, in-depth interview, quipping, “Can you imagine Kamala doing this show? She’d be laying on the floor… saying, ‘Call in the medics.’”

Rogan clarified his approach, aiming for a genuine dialogue rather than a formal interview. “I think we’d have a fine conversation,” he said. “I’d just try to have a conversation with her and hopefully get to know her as a human being. That was my goal. Having her on, trying to get her to express herself.”

For weeks, reports have circulated of ongoing negotiations between Rogan and Harris’s team, though sources suggest both sides reached a standstill.

Harris’s recent media engagements lean toward conversational and pop-culture-centered forums, with appearances on The View, The Howard Stern Show, Call Her Daddy, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
