Former President Donald Trump has announced his plans to return to the spot where he was shot in Butler, Pennsylvania for another rally.

The former president made the announcement Friday in a Truth Social post.

He said he wants to hold a “big and beautiful rally” that he said would honor Corey Comperatore. He was a former volunteer fire chief in Buffalo Township who died while officials said he was shielding his family from the bullets of an attempted assassin.

Two other people were injured in the shooting earlier in July, and former President Trump said the rally would also honor them.

The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by United States Secret Service agents, but it has sparked a number of questions surrounding protocols of the agency.

Officials have said Crooks was on the roof of a building a few hundred feet from the stage where Trump was speaking. Rally attendees have also said they tried to warn police about Crooks before the shooting. Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle resigned from her position because of the shooting.

Congressional Committees have held multiple hearings to investigate what they called a security failure.

Former President Trump is planning a separate rally in Harrisburg, PA. It would be his first time in the commonwealth since the shooting.

That rally at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex is scheduled to take place on Wednesday July 31.  You can find tickets here.
