Melania Trump‘s ex-friend and one-time White House staffer has made a sensational claim about the former first couple. On June 16, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff took to X to post a snippet from the opening sequence of The Apprentice’s sixth season, which debuted in 2007.
Donald Trump was the centerpiece of the reality show, which pitted aspiring moguls against each other for a chance to work alongside him. The footage features Melania emerging from Mar-a-Lago, their lavish Florida retreat, clutching their son, Barron, and welcoming her spouse as he pulls up in a flashy convertible.
Wolkoff, who has openly criticized Melania after their fallout in 2018, captioned the video and added in a subsequent X post that the union between the ex-property tycoon and the Slovenian former model was a concoction of reality TV producers, serving as a mutually advantageous arrangement that “legitimized them both,” reports Newsweek.
In the scene from The Apprentice, Melania, with little Barron in tow, greets her husband with: “Hi, Daddy. Daddy is coming home.” To which Trump responds, “Hi honey,” before stepping out of his vehicle to peck his wife and child. She welcomes him with, “Welcome home,” and they set off walking as he turns to address the viewers.
Trump narrates over the scene, “When this 14-week job interview is over, only one candidate will remain. Who will succeed, who will fail, and who will be the apprentice? ” all while Melania stands by his side.
Winston Wolkoff wrote on X: “Many may think ‘DADDY’S HOME’ is Father’s Day video. Nope! Millions of Americans watched The Apprentice. Donald was a household name. He needed a woman who looked & played the part & let him be the star. Marrying Melania & making her a Vogue Cover model-legitimized them both.”
The ex-assistant further stated: “What catapulted Donald J. Trump ‘businessman’ and his ‘supermodel’ wife to the White House was a MIRAGE created by Survivor producer Mark Burnett and NBC boss Jeff Zucker. Winston Wolkoff was the first person Melania hired after Trump’s 2016 election win. Their friendship ended following allegations that Winston Wolkoff financially benefited from her role as a contractor for Trump’s 2017 presidential inauguration.
Reports indicated that WIS Media Partners, Winston Wolkoff’s event-planning firm, received $26 million to assist with Donald Trump’s inauguration. In her 2020 revealing book, Melania and Me, the former aide claimed she resigned because she was made a scapegoat by the Trump administration. She refuted claims that she received $26 million, stating she was paid a fee of $1.6 million.
